Does it honk only when the signal light is on? If so someone probably bridged the horn and signal light circuit as a joke.

We did this to an old co worker. He lived in Strathmore. Only we bridged to the brake lights. Every time the brakes were pressed the horn would honk.

I bridged the horm circuit to my friends brake pedal years ago lol... plenty a laugh was had at his expense

^ Bah beat me!

Anyways you probably have a short in your steering column and is affected mainly when turning. Warranty, go to dealer.

For a better answer, look up the clock spring. This happened to one of my vehicles a few years ago. Bad clock spring = intermittent horn, and/or airbag problems.

On my vehicle (1997 F150), the entire airbag center, horn switch, etc etc etc, basically all the middle part of the steering wheel, had to be replaced, and since the airbag was involved, it had to be done by a professional.

Better hope the dealer doesn't decide to make you pay for a clockspring if that's the problem. Those suckers are costly.

Yeah unless they decide its your fault or something they are going to screw you on, just pray they don't, which they shouldn't.

if you want to disable the horn, just pull the horn relay. you wont lose any functions other than the horn.

the relay should be located in the under hood fuse panel..

dont remove the fuse. i think horn and brake lights share the same fuse.

how dose pulling a horn fuse disable the shifter?

ide put my money on a clock spring also. but if it the switch you get to replace the air bag, that would be expensive.

if its still in basic warranty they will cover it. they cant say you fucked with it because you have to take off the steering wheel to get at the clock spring. i highly dought you took off the streering wheel.

i was looking up tsb's for this car and theres one for some engines are missing valve spring seats. thats awsome.

that same fuse supplies power to the brake pedal position switch, without that switch the shift interlock will not disengage. which means you cannot shift out of park

Just find the horn itself and pull the wire off the connector on it.

This at least shows you where the horn is...Maybe you can unplug it there without taking off the bumper?
