The PTK (http://www.proturbokits.com) will be here in 35 days. :D

Here is a dyno sheet for a slightly smaller kit then mine running 13lbs boost on a stock 302.

My end goal is to have 600RWHP. That probably won't happen next year though.

Go a bit bigger with your injectors. You're gonna max out at 600hp flywheel with 42lb's. Might as well go big now, since all injector sizes are pretty much the same price.

89coupe
12-09-2003, 01:06 AM
Yeh I understand that. Actually 50lbs are $890.00 where the 42lbs are only $450.00.

I'm not shooting for that number for another year. Next year I will be happy with 400RWHP.

The T67 is good for almost 800HP

My clutch is good for 700ft/lbs of torque. hehe.

There is a guy on my site that dynoed 395 RWHP in his coupe and ran 12.3@118mph on street tires  So I'm sure I will be happy with similar results.

Actually the kit doesn't blow off to atmosphere as the Mas air sensor is before the turbo. Its used as a blow by valve. Maybe that is why.

Oh, so it's a recirculation valve! I got it! You're gonna be missing that sweet sweet vent to atmosphere sound!! I guess that's just the ricer in me talking!! hahaha:D

I think there's a way to get around that though, although I know that most cars need to have it recirculate or it'll mess up the idle. Also, I've heard of those boschs leaking after pretty low psi, but I think MR8 can tell you about them...he used that on his turbo kit which gpomp now owns.

I think it would be pretty hard to hear over the V8 anyways. Not near as quiet as an import.

yah, that's true! I guess you're changing in the nice turbo spool up and blow off valve sounds for a killer V8 growl!! hahaha, I think I'd like to have both though!, yah, I'm curious too, what r u using for engine management?

Congrats Brad,
I think from the pic you have there its a turbonetics turbo and not a mitsu turbo.
its a full t4 turbo that has a 67mm compressor wheel witha .81 AR
I could be wrong?
We have to line up this spring

Is this Mau?

I'm not sure if what you see in the picture is what I'm getting. Its just a general pic of what the turbo kit comes with.

If you go to PTK's site www.proturbokits.com and scroll down a little bit you will see it says T-67 Precision/Garrett Turbo. Of course I pretty much no fuck all about turbos...LOL.

I think my car will be no match for the mighty Supra. But I'm always up for some fun :D

Yeah its me,
And that turbo is a PTE (precision Turbo)turbo that uses turbonectics housing and garrett wheels.

Its not a mitsu turbo so its not classified as a tdo6/tdo7.
Its a full T4 with a 67mm wheel.

Trust/greddy named theirs T67 (tdo6/td07 but they actually uses a -50mm wheel, cant remember the exact size) which would be pretty small for your app.

americans just calls them T67 cause of the actual size of the wheel, 66.7mm.

and also the greddy t78 (tdo7/td08) is more comparable to your PTE67 as the t78 is a 66mm wheel and not a 78mm wheel.

understand,
its kinda confusing but yours will make more power than a mitsu t67

My first lesson in Turbos :D Thanks! That makes total sense. Yeh they rate this turbo good for 770HP.

Will you be using a stock motor?

I think you will like going turbo. It'll have better torque and power than most of the blower guys and will have really good streetability (smooth power, quiet, etc).

You also get props from the ricer crowd too, ha ha ha

Apparently they are very good for tuning Mustangs.

Very nice Brad !! Did the '89's come with forged pistons ?? Or are you/have you already upgraded the internals ?? That's a lot of power for the stock block to handle..

89coupe

Yes 89's came with forged pistons. My end goal is to have this on a fully built 331. But I don't think that will happen next year.

Congrads Brad :)

I just order a new generation Supercharger for my Thunderbird! Newer Style Eaton M-90. Still going to be a slow car! Too bad thoe, I wanted to give you a run at race city this season :banghead: Looks like thats not going to happen now.

Anyways, if your interested in getting the car tuned I'm going to have to suggest Apten. They have been doing extensive work with domestic cars, mostly Mustangs and Thunderbirds. Give Brian an email and see what he can do for you.
http://www.apten-us.com/
You may also be interested in the Mustang Shop. They got a new Superchip tuner unit.
If you get injectors and get a Pro-M unit, make sure you pay the extra money and get a polished unit. My plastic unit looks really....unsafe :guns: That or the Mustang Shop has a wack of 73mm C&L units for cheap.-
