Not alot of differences in these 2 phones:

SL55 - is tri-band (900/1800/1900) and is available in Ruby or Titan.

SL56 - dual band (850/1900) and is available in only Titan.

So if you travel through the world spend the extra $$$ and get the SL55. If you stick to North America then get the cheaper SL56 and take advantage of the dual bands if you are on Rogers and if they ever get the 850 up and running in full.
