Paving at Race City Drag Strip

Race City will be paving the drag strip shortly. The paving to 1/8 mile will be paid for by Race City. The track is good beyond 1000 feet. An additional $17,000 is needed to repave to 1000 feet. This will be done by selling signage and through other sponsorship. All funds raised will go directly to repaving the track. If anyone knows of a person, group or business that would be willing to help out, let the CDRA or Race City staff know this and they will be contacted with the details. This is an opportunity to better the facility and improve racing for the next 2 seasons and perhaps beyond. Thanks.

The front straight is good enough, it's the dips and holes in turn 3-4 and the bumps going up the hill just before entering the carousel. Oh well, still good news nonetheless.

so my guess is the racers will have to deal with even crappier surface in turn 3, 10 and 11. Oh well at least we still have a track.

What crater in what infield?? If you are meaning the oval, then you'd have to check with www.calgaryovalracing.com to see what they are doing to the oval. I have heard that there is going to be some repairs done, but I'm not sure and I haven't been keeping up on that as I won't be racing on the oval this year..
I haven't heard any news about the roadcourse.... your best bet about that would be to talk with Allen Berg as he's on that track al the time.

oh, so RC isn't responsible for the oval's maintenance? but yup, that is where drift practices are held... and it is hell on my car

Just an update on the paving for the 1/4 mile.

Art has agreed to pave (how far is TBA) once the track conditions allow the equipment to do so. They had machines at the track a few weeks ago, but it was still too wet.

Paving will happen we just need the weather to turn around.

Oval:..... CORA would be the people to contact about any repairs/paving of the oval. They are pretty much in the "know" of what will be or what is happening with the racing surface/pits.
Art may be the one who pays for the repairs, but CORA is the big user of the oval and the easiest to contact about those issues.
