The NSX and the MR2 both hard top and Sypder versions aren't FR...they are Mid-Engine Rear Drive...aka "MR"...I dont know if you are gonna really get technical, just wanted to point that out to you Bro....

I think it's easier to say who doesn't have/had a FR setup. I bet hyundia doesn't have a FR, or kia, at least not in the NA market. What about subie?

Have they ever had a rwd car in NA? I can't think of one.

Some of their older models (I mean real old, like the Hardtop) might have been. It's hard to find information on them. Did some digging, it doesn't look like they've ever offered a front engine, rear wheel drive model in their entire history (the 360 was a rear engine, rear wheel drive).

FR? Front Engine - Rear Drive?
MR? Mid Engine - Rear Drive?
RR? Rear Engine - Rear Drive?

Doesnt "Rear Engine" = "Mid Engine"

Technically, if the engine is in between the two axles, it's MR. If it hangs out the back behind the driven wheels, it's RR.

RR = Porsche 911, Chev Corvair, old VW Bugs (vans, squarebacks, etc). Tatra has a nice big sedan that has a RR with aluminum aircooled V-8...definitely different.

MR = MR2, Fiero, NSX, etc.

True "Rear/Rear" cars tend to be known for having particularly evil handling characterized by snap oversteer when you least expect it. It was never a very common drivetrain layout, and has pretty much disappeared entirely now.

I have the other question about

What is the Advantage & Disadvantage of FF and FR?

such as FF , the power is directly to the front wheels.
becasue the engine on the front, and ppl said FR is more balance...so .....who is correct?
FF understeel ---- straight is fast
FR oversteel---- turn is fast
4WD both fast

FR .. make long story short .. Adv : better overall ! DisAdv :cost more to build !

FF Adv : cheap to build and sell Disv : it is not a FR !

Of course, there are many other factors to make a better car ... just most the better cars in the market are FR , and most the cheaper cars, are FF .:nut:
