Best Restaurant in Canada is in Calgary. Take that Toronto!
Been meaning to check out Rouge, but this means I'll have to wait a little while to get a reservation.

Heard that the #1 restaurant on that list is near impossible to get a reservation at.

If anyone goes there, I highly recommend the "Epicurean Adventure" rather than ordering off of the menu. Definitely the best restaurant I've ever been to. I plan to put a review up soon.

If your talking about elBulli, if I am not mistaken, half the year is spent creating the menu, then reservations are taken only one day of the year, at which point it books up completely for the remaining 6 months or so.
I think the new #1 is in "Noma" Denmark but I don't know much about it.
Awesome, definitely have to try this now!

I find that extremely hard to believe considering how many other restaurants in Canada far exceed anything in Calgary.
Maybe he padded their wallets for a vote...LOL

I never really thought of it as a top-100 restaurant. It would be interesting to see what criteria they were judged to achieve that ranking. But congrats to Rouge for making the list.
used to drive by this every day and was always curious if it was amazing or a niche restaurant. Glad I know now. Too bad I wont get a table. haha
Prices dont seem to horrible either.

Pffftt puh-lease.... I never been there, don't plan on it, and I'm still 100% sure a 5$ smoked meat sandwich from Schwartz's in Montreal would blow the doors off this place...

Went for lunch this week. They are running a fixed preice lunch menu which is a great value. $25 for appetizer and main, or $35 if you include desert as well.
That's cheaper than lots of downtown places where the food is much less interesting.
Had a halibut entree and it was fantastic. Will go again.

Went there last weekend and had the six course meal which was phenominal. The price was $95 per person, plus drinks. Ended up spending about $300 with tip for two people, but plan to make it a regular spot as the food was to good to not go back.

Hate to bump a two year old thread... but has anyone gone lately to rouge?
they fell off the world's top 100 list, and i'm curious if their quality's gone down?

Was there about 2 weeks ago for lunch it's good and prices are about the same as those trucks driving around.

Our friends booked Rouge for their wedding and reception a few months ago, and the venue was great, the food was pretty good but not top 60 calibre I thought. We plan on coming back again but, we usually end up at Jacqueline Suzzane's instead:dunno:
