" The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere.

We have 1200+ videos on YouTube covering everything from basic arithmetic and algebra to differential equations, physics, chemistry, biology and finance which have been recorded by Salman Khan. " - http://www.khanacademy.org/

Not sure if this has been posted but I initially saw the 2nd video below regarding the Financial Crisis in the states and looked a bit further into Khan Academy and am actually quite impressed with it. I really like the idea of learning online. I'm one of those types who learns really well on my own at my own pace, as opposed to in a typical classroom or lecture setting. And being a fairly electronically inclined individual and learning so much from the internet already in my life, I think this is a great step in the right direction.

Kind of on a different topic but in his CNN interview he mentions dumping the old corrupt banking system and implementing a new one... sounds like a better idea than perpetuating the shit one :dunno:

Thoughts?

We all know that north america is full of highly intelligent men/women, this is an example of only one that stopped wasting their gifts.

This is only one guy, imagine if even a small fraction of 'hedge fund analyst' experts stopped wasting their gifts.

Smart idea. I always research subjects I want to learn about online, now they're all in one place.

The great thing about teaching topics via podcast is that you can potentially teach tens of thousands of people a year whereas a teacher/professor in a class room is limited to the size of the class (30-100 per year). It seems wasteful to have a brilliant professor and only have him or her reach less than a hundred people a year.

That video on his take on what is wrong with the Financial syste,,,,, it is right on! It's funny, this Moore video that we "discussed" on an American site says the same thing really, and the Americans were FURIOUS at Moore lol
