Stuck with a useless Bell Blackberry

Hi all beyonders

Need a little help from all of you.

I have bought a blackberry 8530 on a bell network off of kijiji and it seems to be on a negative file. That means the phone has not been released. It also does not have a sim card slot so I cannot even unlock it for any other use.

long story short I am now stuck with a BB that is useless to me. I am wondering if you know of anyone that can either release the phone for me or provide some help in getting some info from the previous number.

I have tried to contact the seller however he has disappeared

I am just looking to either getting the phone working or finding the original owner to release the phone.

Keep an eye out on kijiji for the same person posting a new AD for a different phone.


Set up another e-mail account, set up a buy for the new phone and have a bunch of friends with you when you meet him to either get his help ins releasing the phone or to get a trade back.


Or, Call the police, see if they have the phone reported or stolen and return it to the rightful owner.

Im bored. Shoot me everything you know about him. For example:

- Phone Number
- Full Name
- Email Address
- If you met, what does he look like?
- What did he drive?


Chances are that the phone is stolen. If bell wont connect it then there is a flag on the ESN. This is usually the case with a lost or stolen phone. Finding the original owner will not get you it released. It may get you a pat on the back if you RETURN it to the original owner.

I think I will have more then a bunch of friends with me including my bat if I catch this guy again.

The thing is that bell wont even tell me the rightful owner if I even wanted to return it.

That doesnt tell me anything. Tell me about this guy. You would be surprised what you can dig up about someone given a bit of time.

The guy I bought it from name was nick S (mayby fake name) He was an asain guy I met at north hill mall.

The Guy that sold me the phone went by the name of Nick S. The number he used to call me was 403 629 4687 which is no longer in use.

His kijiji add is gone however his last email address used was:

Well i have searched and searched and i have found nothing. I know for a fact that neither of those numbers are/were registered to telus accounts.

You best bet would be to go to rogers/bell and slip someone a $20 to look up the name of the number he called you from.

From what i can tell its not disconnected just off with no voicemail. Or out of the calling area.

Once you get his actual name then its game on.

if he put your number on a call block list, would it appear to you that his phone is off? Maybe that's what he did.

Yea I am still looking for someone that I know that works at bell or a service provider so I can find this guys real name.

The number was a previous Bell user, but I was unable to pull any further information on the person, the account is canceled.

I guess you'll have to check rogers now or maybe wind to see if the person ported the number....

Thanks for trying. I have someone looking at rogers however they need a postal code. They are going to try to see if there is any loop hole to go through.

Well after some digging around with some friends help I have found the name and address of the person who sold me the phone.

I am yet still looking for the owner the of Blackberry it self.

I will be stopping by today and paying alittle visit. If that person that sold me the phone is there. They will face the concequences.

That was the email that was sent to me and that the number I called to pick up the phone.

That phone number is under the name Kasif Shaikh 234 Panamount Rd.

Nope its not at all. But that is the name the phone number is register. I will be stopping by to talk to someone at that house hold in regards to that matter.

If someone is using thier name they should have to right to know aswell.
