been seriously thinking about getting one. Exactly like this, except with the 6 speed. I need a four door car for work, and I like the idea of AWD. anyone have any better suggestions I might have over looked? I can spend upto 100k. was also thinking about the x5 M, but I think its waaaay over priced.

Really nice car, but you mentioned that you needed a 4dr for work, was this for taking around clients etc?

I would go for the Audi. it would be a more practical daily driver.

Its faster, bigger, more fuel efficent and nicer looking than the previous S4...and I love my S4...so that's saying a lot.

The only thing it doesn't have is a mean sounding V8, not a huge fan of the new exhaust note.

Yea to seal the deal with some of my clients, I'll take them to see the houses I've renovated in their part of the city.

If your job requires you to drive around a client who you are billing for a service, do not get the car as it looks like you are overcharging him for the work. If the car is to ferry about clients to put money into your projects, mixed feelings as it looks like you are skimming their potential profit.

Something with less flash, something a person will see and not have any negative impressions, one cannot alter a first impression. You want their work and $$$, your ego can wait for a weekend car you drive in private.

Sweet car, in white it is very nice.

I think that cuts both ways though. If he is driving them around in a nice car it shows he is a successful person. That would mean his business is doing good. Which would also mean he probably does good work.

i would way rather deal with the businessman driving a brand new audi then the businessman driving a 92 escort

i think a nice new car would project that you and your business are successful

I agree, mixed feelings. Having said that, Calgary is a flash town car-wise. I see a late model Bentley, Lambo and other pricy German makes at the health club I used to belong too. This city does ooze profile, so I really wonder what the best car is for the OP's needs.

We all agree the Audi is a sweet ride. If he drives around in a Prius it sends a vibe, as does a Lexus hybrid, is it the right vibe? Bland and/or a person concerned with the environment....Without knowing the business I cannot really make a choice. What do others in the same industry drive? What do his customers/investors drive? This might be more telling.

My father dealt with farmers his whole life, selling them something for $200,000 plus and driving an Audi would not go well at all. He drove what his customers drove (late model NA trucks), he wanted to project an image that he was one of them. That he could be and was very trustworthy. People felt like they knew him for years and this is the trick to successful sales. You can buy anything from many sources, a good customer will gravitate to a like person or company. I read about something similar in Fortune once. I heard good nice cars that don't look overly showy are the Acura RL, Volvo's high end models, and at that time the high end Saab.

I love the S4, wonderful car, but if your trying to take around a couple of clients, there might be betters cars out there than a compactish sports sedan. Just something to consider

I think you took Hondakids example a bit far.

X2....you want to be able to relate to your client on as many levels as you can...although I don't know your industry at all and have no clue what your client's drive, I would probably go the Truck/SUV route. Nothing wrong with a nicely equipped pickup, or full size SUV (doesn't have to be an Escalade)

Another thing to consider is the room in that car versus something bigger. Haven't sat in a new S4 but it may turn out to be a little cramped and you are limited to 3 passengers....4 if you try hard enough :D

I was looking for the Fortune article mentioned by Neil4Speed, instead found a Forbes article:

Another one from Driving.ca dealing with vehicle colour:

audi's are junk. you'll pay out the butt to fix it when it breaks down. A brake job on an rs4 is 4g's. you need to legislate for operating costs... and the cost of operating an audi that you'll be driving the piss out of is going to be astronomical.

You want a "balling" car to shuttle your clients around in? Lexus. An IS250/350 is plain jane enough not to attract to much attention, but is super comfortable.

The goal here is a luxury car right? Why not a fully loaded CTS? If you can swing it, CTS-V?

lol... I only drive around high end clients... these are usually people who are spending a minimum 10k with me per sitting...

lol your comments about flashly cars is appriciated, but, also its sales 101. I learned these types of things when I was 20, i'm 29 now. Back then I was driving the accord you guys have all seen, a nice car now, nicer back then. all my mentors would tell me to buy cheap little reliable civics etc, so I looked poor, so I looked like I wasn't making alot of money, and to have my clients feel sorry for me. I never took that advice, but listened to everything else.

In my business, its VERY important to look successful. Theres thousands of companies in my line of work that do what we do... most of em, are fly by night type companies. after shows like holms on homes, people are scared of death of being ripped off, or having their homes ruined. Its very important for me to look as large as possible, as sound as possible, because lets face it, these customers are spending alot of money, money they dont want to see washed.

As for the other dude.... audi's are not junk man, you nuts? Lexus IS350 is one of the most useless 4 door cars I have ever seen. I sat in their highest end sports version at the car show this year... for me to be comfortable in the front, the rear seats become completly useless. also its RWD. CTS-V is a nice look car for sure. but the resale value drops like a rock. never seen cars lose value like that. plus its RWD. plus its a domestic... talk about junk. I would like to be able to drive safely in the winter...

thanks for the imput guys. I'll probably get it. still need to sell my accord though. keep getting low balled, or people wanting to buy the car for 6500 without all the fancy wheels, springs, radar/laser jammer, etc.

uptown.

Since you have a $100k to spend, got for a RR Sport S/C!!!!!! 2010 is the best, my dad has one, and it'll blow the socks off any car its extremely fast, and since you have that much money to spend, gas shouldn't be a big obstacle. They're reliable, I have an '09, amazing!

So I went into Audi and asked for an S4... their completly sold out of 2010s. The 2011's are coming late Aug, so I wouldnt even be able to enjoy the car this summer...

Like someone said in another thread, their price is their price, no bartering. I might just go get the x5 M. BMW just got a beautiful black one in... 116k.

Ohhh and they WILL NOT be producing any more RS4s

I'm not harping on any car choices, but this comment is hilarious. Spend money on quality winters and you'll be fine.
