Spotted this in the West hills parking lot. Nice guy, chatted for about 15 minutes with him about bikes. $95k bike. Only 500 in North America.

It's impossible to experience the sound in video... the idle shakes your chest, and the small rev he did almost deafened me.

A (slighty detuned) 990cc motoGP bike, on our streets.

That is not a bike, that is bliss.

A telling figure:

" The entire 500 unit allocation for the United States sold out in five hours."

Not a bike I would own, money no object I would look elsewhere. Beautiful bike but owners are saying it is a POS.

There is more than one in town, my partner in my race team has one as well.

Everytime I am in the shop, I make him fire it up- it has got the best engine sound I have heard in a long time!

Cheers

95 GRAND?
I'd take that money and buy a few gixxer 1000's AND a lotus elise.... And it would still seem wasteful. It's hard to argue with if they really did sell out in 5 hours though.

^ LOL, one ride on that past MotoGP bike, and you wouldn't doubt the purchase price.
The technology & design theory that went into that bike is nothing short of mind-boggling.
Traction control among other things are VERY well needed. :nut:

first off... there is nothing quite like riding a ducati, right from the littlest monster, to the S4R though to the 748-998-999, 1098 to let a alone a Desmo.

I "have" heard that though it is a street legal bike, that it really is meant to be track driven, that the pipes get ridiculiously hot and well looks soo good standing still I'd have it in my living room.

If I had the money, I'd buy one... drive it the odd time here and there for the thrill and own a 998FE as my daily rider :)

I've had inliners like an R6, F4, and two v-twins including a RC51, and none rode like the ducs

The 998FE is my favorite, the same one rode in Matrix reloaded.
As 998R Chassis w/ a 999 engine :D

another bike I'd own from duc is the one that started it all, the 916
I'd keep a 916 & a Desmo both in my living room... then again the wife might just flip at that point
