The rear suspension on my Bro's 90 Teg, and more recently on my 2000 Civic, makes this annoying creaking noise whenever it compresses and depresses. Its not noticeable at driving speed, more at a low speeds, like turning into the driveway and such.

Is this normal?? Just really annoying and I'd like to get it to stop creaking.

Does it have a rear sway bar on it? It might be the linkage or bushing are frozen to the bar so it doesn't turn freely. This happens alot with cars with aftermarket bars and poly bushings that weren't greased well before being installed, but its not unheard of on stock cars either. To fix it the best way is to go under and unbolt the linkages and bushings and lubricate them, or replace the bushings entirely.

do you ever hear crackling noises coming from your brakes at very low speed?

No, sounds are coming from the brakes at all. I'm guess it has something to do with the springs or the linkage somewhere.

once again rear stabalizer linkedge is broken.... get it checked out its not really a big deal but left for a long period of time it can cause other problems:eek:

My Probe did that, and actually my sisters Cuntour does that. Mine turned out to be the rear sway bar. Thats what the mechanic told the guy who bought my car anyway...:dunno:

yeah its the linkadge.... the links for the rear on the probe are so thin and small its actually funny, i could almost break them by myself, thats probably why its such a common problem

Hi,

I noticed the same thing on my Integra, its kind of a clunking sound whenever I go over a bump at low speeds. Did you get it fixed? I hope its not serious or anything...

Took it to the dealer, still under warrenty. They tightened a few things. Surprisingly, nothing even involving the linkage or swing arms... But its fine now.

what was loose? My CRX makes creaking noises in the rear as well when I slowly go over a bump.

No idea really. They told me they pulled out the back seat and tightened up some stuff...

They took out your back seat?? wtf? i have a 2000 civic too and theres nothing behind those seats trust me! the only thing to do with the suspention of the vehicle would be the strut towers and there clearly in the trunk! just curious what did they say they had to remove your seats for???
