View Full Version : What is your all time favorite song?

If you could only pick one song to be your #1 favorite, what would it be?
Got into this discussion with a friend earlier today and it got me thinking. I've always had a #1 favorite, John Lennon's 'Imagine', but I was surprised after asking a few family members and friends how difficult it was for them to narrow it down to one song.
So beyond, what is your #1 favorite, and why? It'll be interesting to hear the responses.

boys 2 men - 4 seasons of loneliness
Today it's "When the Levee Breaks" by Led Zepplin. It changes daily. Last week it was Malignant Narcissism by Rush. There's no Vocals, which would make rush the best band in the world with no Geddy Lee or whoever.

I have too many to list. But one of my top ones would be off the new Muse CD, the 13 minute three part "symphony" at the end of the CD.
The classical music influence is perfectly intertwined with Muse's style and Matthew Bellamy's voice.

No song can stir up as much emotion in me as that one can. Especially when it's on the pipes. *shiver*

If I had to have one OVERALL favorite.... hmmm
Iron Maiden - For The Greater Good Of God
Ns-fQRnm9sk
The very first metal song I ever listened to. One song that changed my outlook on music ever since. Before that, i was into only very specific things... then I heard this blaring at a friends place and there and then my musical horizons stretched far and wide, and now I'm a full on metalhead amongst other things.
An education including Iron Maiden as the start point can never be a bad one :D
Oh, and a note... I'm not religious, but just because I don't believe doesn't mean I can't enjoy the epicness of the iron :D
