If the Sunfire with the 2.4 is like my old 2.2, the intake is a really awkward snorkel jammed into the fender pointing towards the front underside of the car and running over top of the exhaust. The cold air intake kits for the 2.2 usually just cut that off and adjust the intake location (IIRC, raised and brought forward slightly to get out of the way of the heat coming off the exhaust header that it lies on top of).

edit: Upon further consideration of the photos, the 2.4 intake seems to be nothing at all like the 2.2's bastard throttle body/intake pipe setup. The 2.4 cold air intake could be anything at all.
