I surprise street bikes all the time in mine, and I've only got Stage 2. I tried the Stage 3 when I was in Portland, and it was pretty wild. I would've gone stage 3 if it wasn't for the loud exhaust... doesn't really work in a convertible.

I took Mibz out for a ride a few weeks ago, and he was crying like a baby in the car, screaming like a little girl. I wish I had a video of that!

It's funny how amazing the power the HPF adds to the M3, as stock, the E46 M3 isn't that fast at all IMO

Yea, my stock M3 was so boring I tried to sell it after 1 summer. Then I HPF'd it and it was a completely different car. Year 3 with her now.

What's amazing is how well the kit works. The car drives and sounds stock. If I don't gun it, you would have no idea it's turbo'd.

How much power are you making rage?

Orbie
05-17-2010, 02:04 PM
Scary thing is it looks like they have a stage 4 kit too for 1100+hp!

I'm thinking gunning off the line makes 1-3 pretty much useless.

More for 200+mph highway pulls than off-the-line acceleration. :)

Stage 2 is rated at 760hp on race gas + meth, but I never use race gas.

On straight pump (90% of my driving) its putting out around 520hp. When I turn on meth, its 670hp. Those are flywheel numbers.

I wonder how tuned that GTR was because that M3 didn't pull on it like a 760hp car normally would.

Anyday you want to race Sheldon, let me know LOL. I've spanked F430 Spyders with my Triumph; both in terms of 1/4 times and track times. Id be happy to add yours to my list. :D

F430 is nowhere near HPF fast, I'd love to see your triumph match up. Should be fun haha

I'm always up for a highway cruise with a bike.

I'll txt you on a weekend when I'm free. I'm thinking of selling the car this summer and upgrading to something a little more exotic, so it'll probably be sooner rather than later.

I did, however, whimper like a little bitch. My legs were a little shaky getting out too.

I'm sure I would've done much better during daylight on roads I knew though. It was like godamn Space Mountain when we went. No idea what was happening or what was coming, just along for the ride.

Would be interesting to do a pump gas pull to see were the SC stands against stage 2...

Also what do you think you are going to get?

Yea, we should go for a run one night.

I'm looking for an R8 or SLR right now, and waiting patiently on news on the mp4-12c.

If you're into the R8, MTM makes a mean supercharger that makes about 640hp at the crank.

It's a turbo kit...variables are based on fuel, tuning, condition of the engine, boost etc etc etc.

My Dad just brought in a 2009 V8 R8 through Kulu... beautiful car. (Its the Grey w/ CF sideblades on his site) May not have all the power of the V10, but you can easily add the Heffner kit for less then the V10 and get more power.(35k)
So far the Superchargers havent lived up to expectations. The VF and PES kits apparently use the wrong size s/c unit.. and its close to being maxed out and overheated form the get-go. MTM is brutally expensive....and dont use proper baseline numbers for their claims. (Same for their 3.0T S4 numbers)

If you want to take a look sometime throw me a PM, and I will see what I can do.

On a side note, I'd love to see how my Stage 3 S4 does against your car as well.. but I'd have to be on race gas. (386whp, 422 lb ft on pump.. so not close enough, but I ran 13.1@111 with my last Stage 3 on 104)

I guess I could say the same thing about any auto manufaturers numbers, as when I go to different altitudes, try different gas and dyno at different temperatures I get different results.

It seems pretty obvious to me that when you change the input variables you get different results.

Ahh, that's who bought the car. Will was telling me about it and I wanted to check it out.

I went to race city for 2 runs last year with a flaky meth pump (was replaced under warranty this winter). I'd basically lose meth at the start and it won't kick in till 3rd gear. I baby launched it off idle to a 13.6@120mph or something haha. That was on a really hot night at like 7pm too.

If I wanted to abuse the car, at this elevation, I'd think I could trap 125mph on a proper launch in the low 12's. That's pump + meth.

I actually was the one who found the car, (watching various US websites daily.. for about a month) we just got Kulu do all the legwork. It had 1400km, and was absolutely mint. I think the sticker price was ~$145 brand new. Apparently the owner traded it in on a V10, his loss and our gain! Im sure we could work out something at lunch or on the weekend.. My Dad is more then willing to show the car off!

Sounds like the M3 would lay a serious whooping on my car.. unless we went from a dig! I think it would be a better match with CSMRX7's car...
