If an automatic cars RPM gauge isn't working anymore (or well, somtimes jumps and works), is it a big deal? I mean, it might be some wiring, but is it enough of a problem to get it fixed?
I doubt it would be a problem, but that's just me

Pretty sure they just use the same gauge cluster from standards to automatics so they don't have to make two different kinds and waste money
does the shifting still seem normal? If so than the sensor to the ECU is fine. I would ignore it.
LMAO at the 7" tach. I had one of those!

I remember in hs i had a buddy with a plymouth voyage van that was standard and no tach...er rpm gauge. Just a little led that blinked when you were getting bad gas mileage.
I wouldn't worry about it, your tach means nothing in an auto

My old car was a manual and had no tach, shift by ear is all you could do.

If you have to look at the Tach will driving a 5 spd you should be driving an automatic.
OP: don't worry about fixing it, it won't affect your car in any way.
