How many days a year do you have the top down?

the jeep is kinda a bitch to put down so i only do so when it is clean and over 20 degrees out and no chance of rain... so... not often haha

I got the Mustang basically pretty much for summer since it's a convertible. Past week I had the top down pretty much every day. Although I like driving the Z more and do that more often, but if the weather permits I always have the top down.

I made a vow when I lived in New Zealand and was driving a Del Sol that if I ever got a convert. it'd be down any chance I get!

I've held true to that for almost 2 years that I've had my S2K and the one year I've had my YJ.

Unless it's minus, snowing or raining, the top is always down in the S. The YJ is a bit of a cunt because it's such a hassle to put up and down but the hard top is on for the winter and then the softy is up if there's a chance of rain or thundershowers for the week. Other than that, it stays naked for most of the time with the doors off!

Thing with Calgary is that are summer is soooo short that we have to take advantage of every sunny day.

I don't have a 'vert, just T-Tops on the MR2, which are a bigger pain the in ass to take out/put in, but I have them off every summer day on the way to work, and home, that there isn't rain forecasted. I also leave them off if I'm doing quick errands as well, but if I'm planning on being out of the car for more than 15 minutes, then I'll put them back in.

So I'd say out of the 5 driving months I get with it, and approx 5000 km, the tops "down" for 3000 of those.

Generally if it's over 15*C and not ridiculously windy.

There are special cases, like when I'm driving on the highway to edmonton, I keep the top up because of the noise and wind from high speed. On the other hand when I'm in the mountains I keep the top down just because of the gorgeous views.

If its +10c, and sunny... top is down.
:D

If its cloudy and shitty out, and below 14, it goes up.

If it's not raining or snowing - the top goes down.

My dad estimates he does 250 days a year top down :nut: One day someone called in to CJ92 and was like "I know its pretty nice out for February, but some nutter has his roof down" haha.

I remember back in Feb, it was -2 out and very cloudy, just a shitty miserable day. Some older guy pulls up to the liquor store I just parked at. He had his top down, I was like "WTF! aren't you cold?"
"nope.... heated seats":D

...Shit:rofl:

My Corvette has the targa top. I take it off any time I head out for more than a quick trip to the corner store. Love the open air, and it really isn't THAT much of a pain...

Wow, was just driving in my YJ with the top and doors off and the entire day at work, I was staring out the window looking at the dark ominous clouds staring straight back at me!

Low and behold, as I was turning the corner onto Macleod, the rain started to hit! OH SHIT! And slowly but surely, it started to come down even more. This thing is not like the S2K and even when in motion, the rain still managed to enter my car and hit me. It wouldn't have been so bad except that I was in my shirt and tie! haha

I love the rain but not in a shirt and tie!:thumbsdow :banghead:
