So today I was driving along barlow northbound, beside the airport doing 90 km/h, the speed slows to 70 when you hit the large bend in the road, anyway I never slowed down so I was doing 20 over along with the cars beside and behind me, suddenly a cop pulls me and the suv beside me over. He asked me what the limit was and I stated 70 and I was doing 20 over but I was on the break slowing so that I can prepare for the turning lane. He tells me its 60 and that I was doing 30 plus over. anyway he comes back and issues me a ticket for 80 in a 60 and says he put on the back of his ticket that I was really doing 93 in a 60. The thing is the 60 dosent begin untill you approach the lights , when he clocked me and where I was pulled over it was a 70 and still a little untill the 60 sign, I was in the 70 as I told him countless times and he called me and idiot and told me if I take it to court he will write me the 93 in the 60 and take 4 points ? the ticket is only 124 when it could be 200, but I have a feeling hes giving me a "break" because I was in the 70 zone. should I take this ticket to court to save the 2 points ? or should i be happy that its not worse. what upsets me is them pulling people over stating its a 60 zone when he knew damn right it wasnt and thats why he lessend the fine and points .

And ive never been pulled over or had to go to court this is why im confused and unsure whether I should "risk" seeing him at court or the judge . very unsure of what to do besides pay it and cut the loss.

This kind of shit is the reason all the cars in Calgary need dashcams. Usually I back up the cops but this, combined with the other thread about the illegal U-turn and then the one where a member got busted up in ??Country Hills?? where the cop was camped behind a sign lasering people in the oncoming zone and ticketing them, is just proof the some people will abuse power when they are given it and need constant babysitting.

I do realize that a lot of police do excellent work and dash cams would protect them from the toolbags who try to sue at the drop of a hat.

I wouldn't be too concerned with him showing up to court. I had to fight a BS ticket in the summer and pretty much demanded from the JP and the officer's sergeant that he show up on my court date and he never did.

You admitted to doing 20 over, in what you thought was a 70 zone. If indeed it was a 60 zone, then it looks like 30 over. Best case scenario is 20 over, that's the ticket you got??

I wouldn't bother fighting it. You were given the appropriate fine for the offense.

You said: "...I was doing 20 over but..."

Cop gave you: "...issues me a ticket for 80 in a 60..." (20 over for those who cant do math)

I don't see a problem. :dunno:

BTW your grammar and punctuation is atrocious, redo English 30.:whipped:
