i just notice around my house near the front door steps and the sides by the drive way there these small entrance holes. i had problems with gophers last year but got rid most of them that were in my back yard. u guys think they have moved to these area? if so how would i get rid of them since now there under cement.

should i call a professional? im scared they might cause alot of damage underneath which i can't see. these rodents r so frustrating to deal with and im the only one in the neighborhood that have them. :banghead: :banghead:

I am not sure if they could get into the house from there. It seems like they would tunnel towards the foundation.

Still unsettling though I will give you that. Good luck.

I found similar holes under my porch too few days ago. Then I saw the little bugger. Freaking field mice. I bought some poison and dumped two little boxes right into the holes. Hopefully it works. If not, mouse traps are coming.

The holes themselves don't pose any significant issue, other than being unsightly (well, to some people).

The problem is, you will likely end up with these little guys in the house... especially in the garage... takes little time for a mouse or mice to get into a garage, then find an easy burrow in your walls and go from there.

So yeah, exterminate those buggers!

I bought these canary seeds (http://www.wilson.nu-gro.com/products/product_e.php?prodID=93) from Canadian Tire. Not the strongest dose, supposed to take 5-10days to kill. I'll see how they work. Kinda tempted to buy mouse traps now, that way I can see them working.

We found a couple on the side of our porch a while ago but didnt think much of it as we never saw anything enter or leave, up until a few days ago ..... theres a skunk chillin under our porch now.

He must have been there for months, as I remember leaving for work one morning and could smell their spraying scent.

:werd: me too, they pop up randomly... I've poured just about anything in those holes: gasoline, bleach, starting fluid, water (does not work, don't be nice), money, wasp killing sprays... My top endore, starting fluid.

I had these at my last house. You probably have Voles. Very hard little buggers to get rid of. When the snow was melting if you looked closely you would have noticed that they also tunnel under the snow. Don't waste your time with mouse poison, they don’t go for it. You pretty much need to get an exterminator to get rid of them. That also doesn’t guarantee they won’t be back. I did this and they didn’t come back the next year but did again the year after that.

I think that's the guy. How much did you pay for the exterminator? I'm thinking about using lawn edging material to close the gap after I get rid of them. They don't dig deep do they?

I can't remember how much we paid. It was a while back. I also tried to line my sidewalk and driveway with brick to fill in the holes but they just dug around them.

I actually had mice burrow into the insulation pad underneath the hood of my car. I was so mad when I saw the hole they made.

No is no stopping voles. Just cut your grass as short as possible each fall and it should deter them.

Me 1, vole 0. I just found the little guy laying on the grass barely moving with bloodshot eyes. Either he's chubby or he ate a whole bunch of poison seeds. I just finished him off quick. Looks like the poison is working. See if I find more of them.

Skunks hunt and kill mice and are nocturnal, I would leave it be!

I'm pretty sure there'll be more than one.

OP, my cousin had these little Vole things at his place and it took him almost two years (I think) to get rid of them. In the end he dug up all the sod around his steps & sidwalk and put bricks in the ground at least two deep by two wide all the way around the steps & sidewalk. He tried all kind of other things that didn't work. He just did the brick thing last summer so I don't even know if it worked for sure yet.

Have you tried dynamite?

i was thinking of trying the dynamite when the grass get more green as it still dry don't wanna burn anything. i have set up traps with cook food soak in bleech + poison seeds as bait, well see if i catch anything.
