The Calgary Drag Race Assoc. and Davenport Motorsports are very pleased to announce

The Davenport Motorsports Street Challenge

This is a 4 night series. Each nightly winner will get $200 cash and the series winner will get a $1000 cash*.
*must join the CDRA so that we can track points and car numbers for the series*

It’s a bracket style start so you must "dial in" a time that you think or know your car will run.
Click here for details on "dial in":

Bracket Racing 101 (http://www.calgarydragracing.ab.ca/images/forms/drag_racing_101.pdf)

There will be 2 "practice" runs each night that will allow you to narrow down your times for your dial in. The tech crew, CDRA members, and myself will be at all the events should anyone have any questions or needs a hand with dial in or any other race related issue.

The series has been put together with the novice racer in mind and is open to Car, trucks, domestic or import.

Power adders are welcome but anything that is not factory (nitrous, or larger turbo's) we ask that you drain your coolant and use water. This will help speed up clean up time in the event that it should spill onto the track as we have limited track time on these nights.

AHRA rules will apply, but if you pass the Friday night Secret Street tech, there is a very strong chance that you will pass the tech on the race nights.

-12 second and slower
-Helmets mandatory
-NO slicks. Must be DOT. Cheater slicks allowed.
-Bracket style start.

$70 registration for non-CDRA members
$60 registration for CDRA members

CDRA membership is $100. They will be available race day or through Performance Parts Center on 32nd Ave. (same building as Speed Tech).

Please feel free to contact myself with any questions you may have in regards to this event.

Sorry guys, I updated my first post.

AHRA rule state a roll bar is needed @ 10.99.
There will be a heads up class as well for the faster cars on the same nights. We tried to cover all the angles.

No pre-reg is needed. Just show up, pass tech, and race.

If you enjoy the friday night's, you will love this event...ever run a fully glued track?:D

So due to the email questions I have been getting about how to dial in, we will be holding 2 classes. The first one will be friday night at Secret Street (Please come early) before the racing gets going. And the second class will be saturday after the gates open.

Hope to see everyone there!!

A few pics from the night.

After a very short rain delay, we were under way at 7pm. The Davenport Street Challenge was a 6 car field that provided some very very close racing all night. Most of the cars were with in 1 second of each other every run.

The winning run was a 14.30 on a 14.25 dial in.

Hope to see a few more people out on July 3rd!!

Yea, the road race guys had the track during the day and we jumped on at night. It was really cool to talk with some of the road guys. Some really cool people!

Here is another link of some local media that was out.
There is a video but just have to fast forward through the commercial.

A HUGE congrats to Chuck Lee (cookiemunster) for dominating the field last night!

Mr. Lee went to the final round against the Davenport Street Challenge point’s leader Matt Pull.

With less than a second difference in dial in times, it was just about a heads up match.

Both racers put on a great show and ran their cars out the back door. Unfortunately, Mr. Lee picked up .1 more than his dial in allowed and broke out.

Congrats again to cookiemunster for a great showing!

I drag race my tuner car every night in the underground streets.. well i wanna know what i can do because i challenged this big dude for pink slips, and he ended up beating me... i don't wanna give up my car and he has connections and he told me that he would break my grandmothers kneecaps, and that he would hurt my mother... :whipped:
