Mine consistently achieved 11L/100KM around town

12L/100KM if I drove it like I stole it

Mileage your getting is normal. It would be tough to improve those numbers on a Type S.

If you are looking for mileage, you have the wrong model. A base model uses regular unleaded, and can get 100k more per tank

oh wow, that is a big difference.

however, are there any aftermarket parts that would also increase gas mileage?
maybe like a cai/exhaust etc etc?

I saw 550-570 per tank consistently. Weeks that I went to the track, 475.

I noticed when i had my RSX-S i was averaging between 525-550 km a tank and that was driving quite conservative

Sorry for the bump but I just wanted to know how you guys are getting over 500 KM per tank? Is this burning a full tank of gas all the way until the gas light comes on?

With my 04 RSX-S, highest I've seen is around 415 and that's right at the empty line (no light on though). After doing the calculation, looks like I'm getting around 10.51 L/100 KM (410 KM, filled up 39 litres). This is with only driving around in the city, shifting at around 3K RPM. Tire pressure is good, I've heard this can affect mileage as well.

Also, I've read that the type of gas you use will affect the mileage as well, I've only ever used Shell 91, were you guys using other stations?

Anything else I can do besides replacing the air filter? The manual recommends changing the spark plugs at 176K, my car has 105K, should I do these as a way of improving the mileage as well? Thanks for your help!

I believe you have a 50 L tank, so if you are only putting roughly 39 L that means you are leaving a 1/5th of your tank unused. You should be able to definitely get another 100km out of 11 L.
