The two men, who took the bus when the driver left it in the area in the 7200 block of 52 Street S.E. to go to the bathroom, were seen in several images captured by the vehicle's security camera.

Police recovered the damaged bus about 40 minutes after the theft near Penworth Close S.E. The suspects had escaped.

Idiot. The same thing happened a couple years ago just outside of U of C.

I've always wondered what it would be like to steal a bus, I can't believe they just left it in some random street. Such idiots if they didn't even think to disable the surveillance camera facing towards the inside of the bus. Nonetheless, a retarded act amongst two immature grown men.

At least they aint cutting off other cars like 100% of the CT bus drivers do.

Id look at it from the bright side and hire these guys.

I highly suspect during their joyride that bus was providing a higher level of service than a typical Calgary Transit bus.

I also remember reading about a bus that was stolen by a 14yr old or something like that, however he didn't do anything bad with it, he simply drove the route and picked people up until he was caught  .

Note the yield sign - you'll see them in the exact same spot on Calgary Transit buses.

I dont have a problem yielding, i have a problem being cut off when im driving 50km/h and he decides that right when im 5ft away from the bus that it would be a good time to pull out.

On the other hand he sat there for 5 min drinking coffee and reading the newspaper while there wasnt a car in sight.

Whenever I rode the bus and the driver would get out for Timmy's (to go to the "bathroom" ), I would entertain the thought for a little while but then dismiss it as a retarded idea.

I thought this was hilarious when I read it in the paper.

I mean who can honestly say they've walked past a running bus/firetruck/cop car/ambulance and haven't thought about taking it for a little ride?

Many bus drivers believe that the yield sign replaced their mirrors I guess. I'll yield to a bus that is trying to pull out, but when they do it anyway when you're already next to them, what am I supposed to do?

Not as bad as the cabs though

Went to Jr high and High school with that guy.
Lets just say loser in Jr high, resorted to bullying smaller kids and beating them up at bus stops to try and fit into high school.

Nice to see hes stealing busses hahahaha.

Looks like one of the hundreds of people who recognized him dimed him out: http://newsroom.calgary.ca/pr/calgary/man-arrested-theft-of-calgary-159350.aspx

I wonder what kind of a sentence he'll get.

hahaha... me too... but only to do something weird, like turn the bus around 180 degrees so that when the driver comes back to get on, the door is on the other side... leaving him  and :dunno:

I'm surprised nobody has stolen a CT bus this way before, it's so tempting.

Or, you could swipe it and head to the bus roadeo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1SgsolzQSs) for some environmentally-friendly autocross.
