Description : After a lot of thought, I’m finally putting my 1997 Civic up for sale. This car has brought me tons of fun since it’s purchase in 2001. I’m the second owner and have taken great care of the car which shows in the original paint and interior panels/seats. This is a fully loaded Civic, so you get power everything, cruise, and a/c (not installed ATM). The car has been parked away for the last 2 winters to minimize damage. The car has also always been garage parked.
The F20B engine was swapped in at 209k (Currently at 220k) so I’ve only put on about 11000Km. At the time of swap there was a bunch of stuff done to the car such as new brakes, fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, fluids, etc. to give it a fresh new start. The engine has had 3 oil changes since the swap, so roughly 4000km between changes.
The car pulls hard and is extremely fun to drive/track. I took it to 2 Speedtech track days last year and it was an absolute blast to drive.

Extras : The car has a lot of stuff done to it, the major ones are listed below:

Engine: F20B w/ 5-Speed LSD Transmission, mounted with Hasport engine mounts. All power options and luxury features intact.
Power steering, cruise control, a/c (not installed ATM, I have the condenser and lines just never got around to putting it in after the swap)
There are no other mods to the engine other then an intake. The engine management is Crome with a chipped ECU. There is a full custom exhaust with a resonator, high flow cat, and an Apexi WS muffler.

Suspension/Wheels/Brakes : Ksport Kontrol Pro Coilovers (Fully adjustable, including dampening)
ASR Subframe brace (24mm Rear sway bar *SOLD*)
Megan Racing front upper strut bar
Full rear disc conversion and braided stainless lines on all four corners
BLOX Rear lower control arms
(16” Rota GT3’s w/ Falken 912 Tires (Wheels are mint, no curbage/rash)) *SOLD*

Exterior Mods : VIS Racing CF Hood *CAR NOW HAS STOCK SILVER HOOD*
No name projector foglights
DIY CTR Headlight housings w/ 5000k H4 HID Kit

Black Acura 1.6EL Trunk lid with white outer taillights (Also have stock 96-98 trunk lid with lights)
Window visors (Bought them recently but have not installed them)
Windshield was just replaced last year, has one rock chip on passenger side, no cracks.
Trunk area and all wheel weels has been sprayed with undercoating to reduce road noise

The bad stuff : I hate to admit it but this car is not perfect so here’s a list of stuff that makes it a 9/10 and a Honda.
-The usual rear quarter panel rust, it’s about the side of a penny on each side and has been this way for 2 years now, it has not spread and I doubt it will as long as its taken care of. It’s hardly noticeable.
-There are a bunch of door dings on both sides, most unnoticeable as there are no deep scratches or rust.
-There is a large dent on the drivers side rear door. I’m sure it can be popped out with a little bit of heat from behind the door panel, I just never got around to doing it. No paint damage on the dent.
-On the passenger side rear door panel there is a rip in the vinyl. I was moving some things and a piece of wood hit the door and tore it. It’s low and close to the mid-pillar so it’s not an eye-sore.
-The front grill chrome trim is cracked from a rock/flying debris on Deerfoot.
-The front bumper has a ton of rock chips, it’s hard to see from far away since the car is silver but they are there considering it’s the factory paint.
-There is also a few scuffs on the front/rear bumpers.
-Now this is the worst thing about the engine. This can be easily fixed with some time/money however the car can be driven fine as long as you can put up with it. There are a few issues with the idle, when it’s cold out the car idles pretty high (2-3k range depending on how cold it is). Sometimes it surges up and down but this hasn’t happened at all in this recent cold spell that has passed so it seems at those it is just the high idle problem. I’m guessing after a timing adjustment and a tune this problem will be fixed and the motor will also put out higher numbers then current, 150WHP and 120tq.(This is from the dyno charts from the last tune from Toma)
- The other bad thing that I learned to live with is the driver’s side axle binds. At first I thought there was a problem with the axle however after a brand new replacement the same problems persist. The binding only occurs at low speeds or full lock-lock turns. When turning full left you can feel the car shake as you take off in first, when you turn full right the axle makes a knocking sound when taking off in first. Both these issues are there only under 15km/h. When driving city/highway there is no issues at all with the axles. The reason behind the binding at slow speeds is due to how low the car is, if you raise it up the problems go away.
