Wife is really on me to find a vase like the one shown in the pictures, that we saw at a store down in Phoenix a few months back. Note that it's fairly large, at least over 2 feet tall, probably higher...

Does anyone know of any stores in Calgary that would carry a vase like this, or could bring one in? Thanks in advance, this will get the wife off my back!

That looks more like an urn. Funeral home?

you want an urn... that is not a vase... it is for dead people's ashes

I am not sure why I'm loling right now....

I guess I'm just envisioning how such a conversation might have gone...

"Wow Mrs. IliveinPhoenix..... I really love your vase."

"That's not a vase... that's my husband."

Yeah, I'm bored.....

LOL! :) Would only be an urn if it was for the ashes of a horse, it's actually quite large (it's over 2 feet, almost 3 feet high) - could fit a whole family's ashes in it!

Well, whatever it is, the wife wants one. If anyone has any ideas on where to find one, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I already know that Hinchcliff & Lee http://hinchcliffandlee.com in Inglewood has some, but they are really pricey..

How much is "really pricey"? You might be hard-pressed to find such a rare product for under a couple hundred bux I'd think....

There's a store on 17th Avenue SW directly across from Brava Bistro and Starbucks. I don't recall the name but it's the right next to Melrose.

Horse urn store (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=723+17th+avenue+sw+calgary&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=38.281301,56.513672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=723+17+Ave+SW,+Calgary,+Division+No.+6,+Alberta+T2S+0B7,+Canada&ll=51.037832,-114.078147&spn=0.007434,0.013797&z=16&layer=c&cbll=51.037825,-114.078319&panoid=6CXlNAAXz-2sdpmD53CNOA&cbp=12,3.39,,2,0.43)

They carry a lot of decor in that style.

It was a little over $1,000 USD - but I would never pay that.

^^ Nice input.

It isn't my style either, but I'm going to stop short of saying it is ugly. It's actually quite nice - if that is the sort of look you're into....

Yeah Spender - a grand is a little much. But look at your username... you should be jumping on that shit! :)

I don't entirely disagree, but you're obviously not married or living with a chick! LOL Lots of the stuff in the house isn't anything that would be there but for her... Me getting the vase equals a bit of peace and quiet from the old lady...

Try Chintz and Co on 11th Ave, they might have something like that. That whole strip along 11th is kind of a "design district", you might see something in one of the stores along there.
