View Full Version : Possible to get bike insurance with previous DUI???

Just need some info regarding this matter. I called my insurance company (state farm) today and asked them how much it would be for insurance under my name for a bike. they said they wouldnt even give it to me due to the fact I had gotten a DUI about 2 and a half years ago. Man am I choked because of the fact I finally have enough money to buy a bike. I asked them is there anything i can do they said id have to wait another 2 and a half years before they would give it to me.
I was wondering is there ANY other way I can get insurance on a bike with my current situation.I am gonna try other insurance companies but if that doesnt work im screwed basically.Thanks for your time and please if someone can give me some good news.

Absolutely. As long as you have your license back there is no reason to be denied access to insurance.

I recommend calling bill at diamond insurance...the man's avatar is a gorilla, but he's a good guy... :poosie:

I have a couple claims on my record and he hooked me up with a much better rate than I was paying, and hooked up the fiance with a better rate...

^ While I was driving around, trying to find the Diamond Insurance office, I drove past this State Farm office in the DouglasDale business park. After being quite frusterated looking for the building I ducked into State Farm. I was quoted $450 for just PLPD (liability) & 850 w/collision with Diamond insurance. Through State Farm I was quoted $220/year. $600 w/Collision
So I'd check into both.
