OK CSI, here's the deal. This dude, at about 9PM Sunday the 7th, smashed out our front door in the Calgary branch (at 5200 - 64 Ave) and looked for our till. He didnt steal anything (and couldnt find the till), but its a matter of principles.

The cops did their thing, and were handing over the video footage.. but I thought you guys might like to try your hand at it.

He was driving a silver Monte Carlo (as per the image) with the windscreen wipers stuck in the UP position.

He looks like a middle eastern Super Mario IMO

Yes he knocked on the door before smashing it with a rock

And this is him making off empty handed

I'll look out for that car, you don't see many monte carlos, and I work off 64th!

(might be time to upgrade to better qaulity cameras too)

Wow... no disguise or anything.

Criminals are not getting any smarter....

^ The shitty camera acts as a good enough disguise in this case. If there any way you could even use those images to positively ID the guy?

Honestly, I thougth the pictures were better than average for a security camera.

...plus, there is a distinct possibility the guy does, in fact, drive a Monte Carlo...

Yeah sorry for the pix guys, but its about as good as we'll get from a security cam.. besides, atleast THIS thread has pix instead of a vague "he was brown and had a silver car" like most of them :poosie:
and no, no ski mask or anything and yeah that probably is his real car. He broke into Pumps & Pressure looking for a cash box/till..

I think there wouldnt be too many silver Monte's sagged in the back like that with the wipers stuck in an upright position ?

Wipers usually goes up and down.

Photography/video-stills is the means of permanent recording at any given time.

Not the brightest bulb on the tree, he wears no facial cover yet wears gloves. Might have a record so that explains the gloves or he is thinking (ha ha) wearing gloves will not leave finger prints. I would post a few posters around an area you think this fellow might hang, give the cops as a contact though.

Have you looked through security footage for the days previous? He most likely was in the shop pre break-in for a scouting trip. Might have parked the car right in front (another idiot move) as he did for the break-in. Returned when you were gone. Start with the day of the break in and work your way back in time for a couple of weeks or so.

Do the other shops on the street have security cameras? Might use their images for a plate number on the day of the break in.

That Monte Carlo looks to be carrying a full load in the rear.

Shit I watch way too much Law and Order.

Silver Monte SS for sale on Kijiji, not saying it is the one at all. But if you could get the security cam pic of the criminal's car at a higher resolution one can eliminate this Kijiji Monte, as it has something hanging from the rear view mirror.

Was the criminal's Monte an SS? Did it have tinted windows? Hard to tell from the security camera picture.

Also, why would he break-in and not take anything? Not logical at all, was he looking for a certain chemical for making drugs? Breaking Bad situation there, it is just not right to break-in and leave empty handed. Something is really not right here. I mean shit, grab something, anything. Everything is worth something to someone. Like you said the cash box was not taken. Who says he was after cash?

I'd say the kijiji car is worth checking out. Look at how close it is in proximity to 64th? Unless he gave a fake postal code in the ad.

:dunno:

He is right handed, knocked on the door with his right hand.

And are you certain those are wipers you see stuck in the on position? Could be a reflection, I cannot really tell. If he was driving away quickly, assume he was, he could have hit the wiper on/off switch my mistake. I do it all the time in my car, not knowing Monte Carlos, I do not know how logical this is.

It looks like they are stuck in the up position.

OP call him to check out the car, and see if its the same super mario looking fellow.

Tons of stuff in the store, not to take anything is really odd. Unless his trunk was full.

Can flip a pressure washer very quickly, everyone wants one.

Perhaps the criminal had an order someone placed for a product sold in the store? He could not find it as it was moved from where the true buyer last saw it. That might explain things. If so did you recently move an expensive item from where the criminal was looking?

It doesnt have the red SS badged on the side, so I dont think thats the one.
The wipers are definitely stuck in the up position, in the vid they're up when he starts the car and backs up, and stay there as he drives away.

Considering how stupid he is, I'm shocked he didnt back in so we could get the plates !

There's an aweful lot of expensive compressors and stuff there, but its all big (need a team + truck to move). He went straight behind the counter to get at the tills (which are emptied every night).

Thanks for the feedback so far guys, some good ideas here. I dont believe any other building in the block were vandalised either, so either it was a random pick or you're right and he was after something specific ?

You may also want to review your old videos as he may have gone there previously and may have clearer view on his face. He may have purchased something before and you might have records, visa info, etc.
