Will be there in July. Looks like pretty boring if you don't do the theme parks. Any suggestions? And interesting places within 2 hr driving radius?

Drive out to the coast. See if you can beat the oil slick there.

Quite a bit to do depending on what you are into. More of the active scene than party and nightlife.

Gatorland is pretty cool, a lot better than you`d think

SeaWorld if you are a animal person - I could spend all day

Kissimmee Air Museum - Not many musems let you fly in and control WW2 planes

Lake Toho - Amazing fishing tours

Discovery Cove - Snorkel at the Coral Reef though tons of fish, stingrays, swim under a waterfall, and through an aviary and even swim With Dolphins.

Just came back from there 2 weeks ago.

You're right, it's boring if you don't do theme parks.

I went to both Universal Parks, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens & Kennedy Space Center.

You could also try this indoor skydiving place I went to. It's pretty cool but also pricey for the amount of time you get.

The 2 outlet malls are decent.

What kinds of things do you like to do? I was in Tampa/Orlando in March for 10 days.

Tampa is an hour or so from Orlando, so there you have Busch Gardens, Lowry Park Zoo, Florida Aquarium, etc.

Near Orlando you have the Kennedy Space center, Central Florida Zoo, and my favorite place which was Discovery Cove (across the street from Sea World). Gatorland is also near Orlando.

One thing I wanted to do but didn't have enough time was a tour of the everglades on a swamp boat, that might be pretty cool and is near Orlando.

I stayed clear of all the Disney stuff as well, doesn't really appeal to me.

Ahh yes I forgot about the outlets. There are some in Orlando really close to the Disney parks along the highway, and there are some about 45min from Tampa. We went to both, the deals are ridiculous at some places. If you need any clothes its great.

Yeah, all in all I only have 2 full days to myself. Going there for work. Looks like shopping and gatorland seem to be top of the list.

Or may be I should learn turning left really fast?

Anyone tried that? $450 for 8 laps in a NASCAR.

My manager did this. Told me it was worth every penny if you can afford it.
