I heard this feature is available on many new cars and wanted to see if you can get these for any car aftermarket???

It's like defrost for the front bottom of the front windshield, that keeps the wipers from frosting.

If there's 4 feet of snow on you car these little whiper blades aren't gonna melt it for ya. Plus if r thermo stat doesn't suck one then it should be ableto fryoff the frost from the windshield ad that windshield whiper of the same.. to me just a waste of money depending on the costage ofthese

My '08 Impreza has a heated windshield in the wiper area. Doesn't seem to do much and the $800 price tag for a replacement windshield is brutal. (cracked 3 ways in the first two months)

I have heated wipers on my current car and they are really useful. I think people just don't quite understand why or when they are helpful.

I find the biggest benefit is when you are driving on the highway in the snow and the temperature is -5 to -10*C. When you are at speed the snow flakes just blow up and over your windshield, but after a while one will hit, and you get a wet spot then from there others start sticking and it spreads fast. Now, all this time the snow flakes were flying over your windshield they were hitting the underside of your wipers and freezing, when you go to use them to clear the water they are 1 inch wide with ice and snow, and they completely smear your vision instead of clearing the water.

With heated wiper lands this ice/snow never builds up on the wipers and they work properly in this situation.

I know it sounds like a really rare situation, but I do a lot of highway driving in the winter and I think they are a great thing.

I had a heated windshield in my range rover and it worked beautifully. :dunno:
