One wonders how the revenue will go if the USA gets the 2018 cup? They would have most of the stadiums already built, wish Canada was part of this bid.

The TV revenue is nuts for this WC, cannot really figure out why.

I am not aware of any Canadian bid made as of yet. Edmonton, Vancouver and Toronto would have the right sized stadiums I believe.

Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton and Vancouver.

What is the minimum size to hold a final game?

It appears 40,000 for the final game, but to hold a game the stadium can be smaller, just the final has to be of a certain size.

The application deadline has already passed for both the 2018 and 2022 bids.

Canada will never host the World Cup as we don't meet many of the requirements, especially transportation between major cities.

I was going to say this. It would be very hard for clubs and fans to travel from one side of Canada to another to play games. Doing this for a month would be to much of a challenge. Only way to do it would be to pick a Province, but even then the support is not there.

Yeah, and before people start going on about how the USA were allowed to host back in 1994 even though air travel was the only way to get between cities, keep in mind that giving the tournament to America was a concerted effort to break into the world's biggest economic market and grow the game.

The great thing about having a country like England or Germany host the World Cup is train travel. Even in Brazil, where the 2014 World Cup will be hosted, many BILLIONS of dollars are being spent upgrading the country's infrastructure, especially train tracks between major cities. Here in Canada we just don't have the population to support that kind of investment.

Our train doesent even go to the airport. lol.

On a side note I would like to see Russia win the 2018 world cup and Qatar or Australia win the 2022. All 3 would be very good and far enough away from previous locations to really make a difference. Qatar I think would be the best.

Qatar doesn't have a hope in hell of winning. They plan to combat the forty degree temperatures with outdoor air conditioners.

That's certainly not going to piss off environmentalists, not at all.
