Where to stay in Penticton area?

My wife and I are taking our 3 kids, ages 6, 3 & 1 on a road trip from Saskatoon this summer. We plan on stopping for 3 nights in the Penticton area and are looking for a nice place to stay where we'd have a kitchen and 2 bedrooms, but we don't want to pay $300+ a night, either. Does anyone have any recommendations for this area?

better call around, the motel we stay in is already booked for July.

Personally we like the north side (okanagan) less drunk kids etc, however the eye candy and the lake is def 1 step down from Skaha.
