R4um (http://www.r4um.com) posted some new info on upcoming Audi R4 (baby R8)

* Audi R4 arriving in European market in 2013
* To be positioned below TT model in Audi lineup
* R4 coupe and R4 roadster variants expected
* Powered by at least 1.4 TFSI and 2.0 TDI
* Approximate weight: 1150 kg (2,500 pounds)
* Programmable nagivation via iPhone (program route on iPhone in comfort of your home, automatically syncs with R4 navigation)

If it looks and performs half as good as the R8 and priced under the TT, I'm SOLD!

But .. should be replacement for TT then?? (2013 ia about time for next gen TT anyway)

There's no way that car's going to be both 2,500 lb and AWD. The TT and R8 are both AWD only, and even the TTS is grossly underpowered.

I'd hazard a bet that either calling it a mini-R8 is a terrible misnomer because it'll be RWD or this car is not going to perform very well at all.

2500 lb with AWD?

I call BS. TT is already pretty minimal @ 3100lbs. I can't see what they can shave 600lbs out off.

TT is up for a remodel. I bet that's what it is. TT will become baby R8.

My bet is FWD (sadly) Well no, we're just saying that there's no way it's going to be AWD with that weight. So either it's going to be heavy or not AWD.

Audi doesn't make RWD vehicles at the moment, but who on Earth would buy a FWD roadster? My guess is that it's just going to be heavy and underpowered. Kinda like a TT. Imagine that.

Excited to see what it looks like. Can't keep up with rage2 and his R8 so R4 is the next best thing. :burnout:
