View Full Version : LF: Fuel pump for Datsun 280z
I've been trying to get my 1976 280z started but my fuel pump is done. I have called around; most wreckers do not have it or i'm getting prices from $250-$450 for this part (auto value) ...and it's not even factory. I'm not certain what other applications or fuel pumps i can use for my car? If there is another option, i'm open.
Is there any other sources in the city where i can save my wallet? Maybe you have a 280z fuel pump you want to get rid of...please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

there is usually core return credit for autovalue, at least on other components like alternators/brake calipers/starters etc
see if they offer it for fuel pump, i dont see why not as it is a rotable component that can be overhauled.
even then if you plan on doing some mods just get a wally, theyre about 150-200 and more or less all the same

You can get walbro for most applications on ebay for fairly cheap. Dont get the red cheap ones, get the proper walbros.
also, i would be willing to bet most nissan intank pumps would be able to work with little to no modification, maybe try somebody's stock 240sx pump?
Hey there, hopefully you are restoring/rebuilding yours to original otherwise I would say the above posters are right, go with the Walbro.
I wouldn't sell you one of mine for less than
thezstore wants for a rebuilt one. Also, the context of your question leads me to believe you are a Z newbie; if that is the case head here zcar.com (http://www.zcar.com) and use the search button, you will have reading material for years.
Thanks guys for the replies! I have been looking at warlbros from the states. Other Z forums recommend them as well. The only things is, I wasn't too sure how much fab work i would be doing and i was hoping to get one by the end of the week local. I'm heading to Edmonton this weekend where my car is sitting in my parent's garage. I have had this car for about 12 years and i haven't started it in 5years.
Thanks.
You can see why I want to get this thing running...

I would yank yours first, and then see how the others fit. Im assuming they use the same way to mount it as they always have, but i could be wrong. It should be quite easy to come up with something.
