I didnt know where else to turn, not even for sure if im posting this in the right Forum, I own a 93' mitsubishi eclipse, 2 months ago a torque screw shot out hitting the flyrod pushing it threw the bottom block. The motor is beyond repairable. I generally used this car at car shows and race tracks, i spent 300$ on a brand new paint job and 200$ on brand new wheels about a month before the motor went out. It only has a 1.8 but I was assured that a 2.0 would fit it, my problem is I want to sell it, I have spent way to much money on this car from the day i first bought it, and I just dont want to fool around with forgien sport cars any more. Im packing it in and giving up my love for driving fast in a fast car. I need to know what anyone thinks I could sell this car for, I know that cars without running engines sell for near to nothing. But I've spent over 600$ on this car plus the 1500$ i spent buying the car it self. The body is in almost perfect condition thanks to the new paint job, has no dents no damage just a small scratch on the rear bumper nothing serious. the inside is pretty clean a few tears but its understandable for a car of this year. I have already disconnected the motor and drained out the oil pan. So my question is if you guys were in my shoes selling the same exact car with same the problem, what would you be looking to sell it for?

I would just cut my losses, even the tsi's are selling for 1500-2000 for a stock one, theres a 1.8 on the forum for like 600 bucks

$300 for a paint job... $200 for BRAND NEW wheels... I need to buy stuff from the same place you do.
As for the car, you don't have a lot of money in it. Even if you only get $100 for the car, the blown engine would have only cost you $2k.
Although that is over 6 full paint jobs.

so this isn't a gst? (eclipse gst = talon tsi, right?)
if its not, junk it, its not worth fixing.
if it is a turbo, used motors arent very hard to find. you could probably get a beyonder to put it in for you, maybe for less than 1000 total.

how much gas is in the tank? There's your vehicle's worth, rounded to the nearest cent.

Not to be a troll but....
How fast we talking here? I'm pretty sure you can go really fast with 92HP.

Also:Eclipse "Bro" is telling a pretty cool story bro.

$300 for a paint job? Christ, where was that?

$200 for brand new wheels? Steelies maybe....

If I were looking at buying a car with no engine and shady amounts of work into it, I'd go $100 at the most. Best of luck, but you're SOL

You used a 1.8L Eclipse at race tracks and a $300 paint job for car shows :(
