I stopped to fill up gas at the Esso on 12 Ave and 1 St SE yesterday and the prepay islands had premium gas for the price of regular. They had run out of regular gas.
Don't know if that's ended but it was a nice surprise.

Sorry, it was about 5:30pm or so yesterday. Wasn't able to get back home till after my night job and post this until now :banghead:
What's so beneficial about this? If you car doesn't require premium putting in premium doesn't magically add 10 horses.

MDX = regular
C63 = premium
If you're a baller, few bucks won't matter. For the rest of us... why not! It'll pay for my Starbucks. :D

Well, normally people LIKE getting a more expensive product for a cheaper price, I mean I know I do, seems like a normal way of carrying on, not even sure why anyone would even question that; THAT seems weird.

Yeah but if my car runs on Regular, I wouldn't fill up on Premium just because regular is out. I usually don't fill up when my tank is SUPER low anyways, so I could make it to another station if necessary.

Premium = 10cents more per litre.
60 litres in my car.
6 dollars a tank.
I'd spend that in gas money driving there and back, so :dunno:

MDX is also premium :banghead:
I am not saying not to go if you need premium. I am referring to those who put premium into cars that don't require it thinking its a better gas because it costs more.
If I was around that area I wouldn't hesitate to save a few bucks.

I've heard that putting premium in a car that only requires regular increases fuel economy enough to negate the cost difference.
Any one hear of this?

It is a lie. :)
There is no benefit of putting premium in a car that requires regular. If anything, there will be negative consequences.

How much octane (minimum) in gas would be required to be considered premium?
EDIT:because husky sells gas at (90/92/94 Octane) for pretty much the same price as what shell charges (87/89/91)

omg...octane debate again.
Octane is the ability of a fuel to resist knock in a spark ignition engine.
The number is what matters, not what they call it.
Husky has higher octane ratings because it's 10% ethanol, which has a very high octane rating on its own.
