Technically it is not. Sucks cause Wed is my normal day off, plus I got yesterday off, and I have to go back to work for a single damn day(today) before the weekend :dunno: gheyyy

Having Thursday off is the worst fucking day to have off, i was in such a bad mood yesterday just remembering I have to return to work for one single day, I would have gladly worked yesterday and taken today off in lieu

Technically it isn't but I think most are flexing today.

Its not to bad working today unless you wanted to skip town - Things would be pretty easy going around the office, and its not like the weather is too great. What would you be doing otherwise right now? Watching Regis and Kelly waiting for Ellen to come on and then pass out again during Price is Right...

according to our government, not supposed to be.

national holidays (http://www.pch.gc.ca/eng/1266366005340/1266193609234)

provincial holidays (http://www.pch.gc.ca/pgm/ceem-cced/jfa-ha/prov-eng.cfm) (see how many holidays the newfies get? :guns: )

my work is pretty leniant on what day you take off because were pretty much open every damned day of the year, i worked yesterday and picked next friday off, holiday in the middle of the week is useless to me

Today is not a stat holiday.

I'm up in a NE office... soo quiet here. There are only going to be 3 of us here today. If it wasn't for the fact I wanted them in the office to help cleanup the tech crap laying around, they'd be WFH :whipped:

Can't complain about the commute, left at my normal time, watched someone rear end someone else at the bottom of cemetery hill and was at work 10 minutes early

Tell me about it. I'm working today TWICE. IT job during the day, and bartend in the evening.

... and it's my friggin' birthday. I'm going to light a shot on fire tonight as a makeshift cake for myself.

today is a great day to work... no traffic, no one at the office... 2 hour lunch, leave early... so relaxing... might as well be a holiday

Can never leave early when you work in IT since the second you do someone needs you even though all day you didn't have a single call/issue/problem

Who is going to believe that you are sick...anyone calling in sick today is going to look suspision as hell. I am bruitally tired from a 14km hike yesturday, but still working today, blows but such is life. Could have taken today off if it wasn't for us being short staffed at the moment

Gotta love self employed on these kinda weekends. I worked both yest and today. No traffic with all the campgrounds packed and sold out and crappy weather (so far), I'll take a 4 day'er and go next weekend when it's much quieter!

Remember fighting many a grievance at my last employer for employees who were terminated for "sick" days - companies are not very tolerable of such behaviours and now that I own my own company, I can say that as an employer that I am also not very tolerant of suspicious "sick" days. Remember, what goes goes around comes around - employers tend to have good memories and long ones too and I do remember instances at my last employer whereas they had managers staking out suspect employees - abuse the rules and it could come back to bite ya in the butt.

In response to the poster that asked what you could be doing instead of working today.... golfing. I am golfing at 6:30pm, but I definitely would have done two rounds today if I didn't work.

That's the beauty of my job, apparently if you call in sick the day before or after a stat you don't get paid for the stat.
I've never risked it to find out, and I'm not gonna.
It was busy as fuck at my job though, I'll tell ya that.
