hi im thinking of swapping a 3-sgte engine into a '88 AW11 right now it has the 4-age red top engine. I really dont know about much cars or its mechanics but id like to know how much ( just an estimate ) money would need to do a swap. that will include the labour and the engine of price. Thanks!

Sounds about right. When you do a swap many people upgrade just because it's easier to do at time of swap IE new tbelt, waterpump, IC, intake, etc. etc.

its a big job, parts wise it helps if you have an entire rear clip so you have untouched wiring, ECUs, motor transmission etc.

Old mounts have to be cut out of the car and new ones welded in, car needs to be rewired. plus you will need new exhaust, the intercooler needs to be relocated. the engine lid latch has to be removed. etc etc.

thanks for the replies and this particular website sells the custom fitted welded engine mounts http://speed-source.net/products/3sgte.htm which is kinda really nice, so i may not have to make it myself and makes job easier

and as for replacing wiring and all that stuff its quite a job. gota save up some $$!!

speed source is definitely a bonus, they didnt have a kit when I converted my car...

you are also going to want to buy there stainless braided clutch hose, for the mk1.5 as the stock line will not work.
