View Full Version : hard drive reading extra extra?

my 3gb or ram, qx9650 ($1100 cpu) windows 7 64bit strangly is always reading the hard drive and i am not sure what it is doing, i disabled all non ms services , no spyware , i even disabled search indexer.

i did the windows 7 defragmenter but it didnt do anything.

like now it fine but loading up apps is when it happens.

have u tried looking at resource monitor and seeing which process is accessing the hd?

the cpu is at 1 percent, its doing it now.. nothing is hogging memory/cpu, how can i see which is access the hd like this?

A HijackThis log will show important information that's probably related to the issue.

'Performance'
'Resource Monitor'
'Disk'

You can use process monitor to figure this out.
