hey guys I was just in vegas like a month ago and made around 200 bucks in a roullete table, thought it was pretty good; however i saw people that were ok with losing 500 bucks in one spin.
on the plane back I met a guy who claimed to have lost $1000 in 4 min and his friend was down 10Gs in a weekend .. so what are your stories? have you been lucky and made tons of cash? or have you lost plenty?
id love to hear past experiences:clap:

Bought in for Bacarat for 500-600, went on a losing streak and was down to $40. I said F'it and place it all on player and told myself to let it ride many times. Walked away with over $2500. Pretty exciting.

Story # 2

Played 1-2 PL DC at cash casino. Bought in for $180 (this is considered a small buy-in for DC). Turned it into $450. Bunch of people at the table normally play 5-10 DC. Decided to all switch to that game as long as the short stacks were allowed to play with what they had. Walked away with $3300 (was actually up to 4k but couldnt stop lol)

I took 5 AM a break from playing 2 deck blackjack at TI, was sitting over at the slots nursing a beer and threw $20 in a slot machine. Was not paying attention really and the bells and lights went off on my machine. I was too tired to tune into what was going on, quick thought was I won the Lexus SC400 (?) sitting above me, hated the colour (red).... a casino guy comes out all sleepy looking with clipboard, says I won $4,200 and do I have ID. ID given, he peels off about $3,000 and has me sign for it, I say where is the rest? He says Uncle Sam collects it, I chime in with Canuck line and he says... makes no diff.

This was a decade ago, now you can collect the tax, back then I don't think it was possible.

The slots and spinning games keep a casino going, they are the worst odds in the place. Fun if you have nothing else to do but a losing seat. Watch high end baccarat, with an Chinese (mainland/HK) guy playing, cool as it comes when the $$$$ is being flushed away. Never witnessed little dainty sandwiches cost so much for a baccarat player.

My luck is such that if I had a %99 chance of hitting a million dollar jackpot for $1 I wouldn’t waste the $1. My chances are either %100 or %0. There is no in between with my luck so I don’t gamble

I was grinding it out hard one night at Calgary Casino playing 4/8 Holdem. I was down to $3 in my big blind and had to borrow a $1 to complete it. Wasn't feeling it so didn't want to buy in anymore. Guess what? I won that hand, over the next 1-2 hours I hit everything and cashed out +$500. I wanted to find that lady and tell her the story but never saw her again. Good times.

About three or four trips to Calgary ago, I cashed 16k in less than 12 hours.

Last month in Red Deer cashed 6k.

I've got some pretty crazy stories... some good, some bad.

Here's my worst poker story:

I was playing 1-2 no limit a few years ago at the Grey Eagle.

I had K-Q suited before the flop. Someone raises before the flop, and I called, as well as a few others.

Flop comes out K-K-J. Someone bets, that gets raised before me, and I reraised all in. I got 1 caller. At this point, I had $500+ in for this one hand, and the pot was somewhere around $1200-1300.

The caller had A-J offsuit. The only way he could've won was running aces or running jacks.

The turn and river both came up as aces haha. Shittiest luck.

Blackjack player here.

Had the worst shoe a while ago, I didn't even feel safe with 19 or 20 against a bust card. It was rediculous, if I had 19, her bust card would make a 19 or a 20. If I had 20, I would push or be beat by a 6 card 21. Of course not every hand in the shoe was like that, there was that odd hard 17 that she would get once in a while. :guns:. Yesterday I was once sitting on 20 (Q,K) against a 3. She pulls a face... I'm screamin in my head "MONKEY!!!" or even a 6 for 19!!!. Nope. She pulls an 8 making a hilarious 21.

My best run was a $200 buy-in and walked out with $3800.
My worst shoe was just... bad...

I sometimes play the luckylucky tables, best I've ever hit on those suckers was suited 7 which pays 200-1. I had $5 bucks on it. It was my first hand of Blackjack I've ever played at Elbow River. I jumped in on someones shoe though (woops).

I'm a dealer here in calgary, the worst I ever saw was in high limit baccarat. Buddy had a poker tray full of thousand dollar chips ($100,000), in a very short few hours every penny was gone.

Personally the worst I lost was a 2300 dollar poker hand. The best I had was blackjack at the eagle, 100 bucks into 1400 in 20 min.

I was playing a poker tournament with a $50 buy in and just knocking people out everywhere. It came down to 3 of us in the finals and I had the winning hand, one guy folded, the other guy had nothing and was out. Just as he was getting up to leave, some asshole from behind me that isn't even playing yells out, "Wait, there's a straight!" People thought he was crazy but when we moved the chips and looked, the other guy that was leaving realized he had a straight and then I was out. I was so pissed at that guy.

Was his 17 a A,6 or a hard 17?

Damn, just thinking back on all those times I could have won if the player next to me didn't take a card like they weren't suppose to...

Also, when a shoe is going good and someone hits/splits when they aren't suppose to, it just fucks up the rest of the deck and it all goes into the dealers favor. Or when someone jumps in and plays their last chip to test their luck. Hahaha... :thumbsdow

hard 17  I could totally understand if it was an A + 6, cause' I would hit that too, but it was a face + 7.

edit: I would even double down actually if I was feeling it.

Over under stories anyone?

I've been winning like crazy last few days now that I play smart. bet 5, if you lose bet 10, then 20, then 40, then 80. You bet over every time, odds are 1/5 you will hit and end up winning 5$ overall. once you win, start at 5$ again and repeat repeat repeat

So your odds are 1 in 5 to double your money? Why not just do that same tactic on roulette. Bet black all the time. You odds are way better almost 1 in 2 to double.

I love people that get mad at what other blackjack players do at their table.

They have zero understanding of how random numbers work. 50/50 that someone making a dumb play for them self will help you or hurt you.

If you're unlucky 5 times in a row and reach the betting limit, you're fucked haha. Happens so often at over under.

This is called the Martingale betting system. The problem with it is there are table limits generally to prevent this type of thing, plus you could need a large bankroll if things go bad, and all that to win $5 a time... not worth it.

+1 Only works well if there is a high limit and you have a huge bankroll.

Ya for sure it can go bad. Odds aren't the best and completely aware of what system it is. It's not dangerous if you have the money to lose when it's really just for fun in the end. I ended up leaving with a few hundred dollars at end of stampede up and I completely know it is luck, but hey isn't that part of gambling?

My odds were good, 1 deck, first hands, 1 visible face on the table.

Is that so? I'm by no means a frequent blackjack player, but my understanding of card counting is that if a player suspects that there are a high number of tens/face cards left in the deck, it would be detrimental to the other players for somebody to hit with a questionable hand (e.g. hard 17), as it'll likely reduce the number of tens/face cards remaining in the deck, giving the dealer less of a chance of going bust when it's their turn to act. I don't think it's totally random if card counting techniques are properly employed.

That's why I rarely play blackjack anymore. You get some asshat at the end of the table who'll blame you for his bad luck.
And nobody at the cheap tables is counting through those multi-deck shoes. Sure it's possible, but it's not happening in Calgary.
