2 Weeks off End of August/Beg of Sept Where to Go?

Like the title says, I have about 2 weeks off, and am looking to go on a little vacation with the gf. I want to go somewhere hot and with a beach and don't want to go to the US or Mexico. Looking to spend around $4,000 between the two of us for flight and accomodations. Any suggestions would be awesome!!

Is 2 weeks to short go hit up somewhere in Europe?

It's not too short, but it will be slim whether you'll be able to spend ~4k for everything for two people.

What about a central/south america, Like Costa Rica? I just found a flight aug 27th - sept 10th on Kayak for $594 RT/tax, so I'm sure you could find a flight a flight for under a grand.

You can get flights to Rio de Janeiro for under a grand easily too, and once you're there its easy.

If you're on a budget, either of those countries are an easy way to stretch your budget. As everyone else said, that budget would be almost impossible for Europe unless you LOVE baguettes and 16 bed dorm rooms ;)

Can you delay the trip so the entire two weeks are in September? Maybe you'll get better airfare and hotel rates for a European trip.

for 4k going anywhere for 2 weeks will be difficult except a Mexican all-inclusive.

Early September means start of bad weather so I would stay away from the Pacific side. So no Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, or Playa la Ropa. But then again the Gulf is looking a bit oily right now. :(

Dezmarez, Air Transat just released some flights for end of August/beginning of September for $580 roundtrip after tax to London Gatwick and back.

$4k to go Europe for 2 weeks .. will be tight, it is still possible, if you go B&B, and not Aug.

US or Mexico is good, you can consider going to Thailand/Malay etc, hotel and food are cheap there!
