JDM ST185 engine = 225hp, 225 ft-lbs
USDM 185 engine = 200hp, 200ft-lbs

You want to pay someone to do it? Well then it's gonna cost a lot of money to do the swap. Probably in the range of $3000 in labour. And that is if you find someone actually willing to do it for you. Best bet is to either learn how to do it yourself or not at all. As long as it isn't an ST model, (GT or GTS is fine) the mechanical work is a direct swap. It is the wiring that is difficult.

Also keep in mind that you can not use the factory intercooler without adding a hood scoop to your hood. You could also switch to FMIC. You also need to upgrade your fuel pump...keep that in mind. You'll need a new exhaust, 2.25 inch minimum, however 2.5-2" is best for performance. Then there's all the maintanence stuff you should do since it is a used engine...water pump, belts, dist. cap, plugs, wires, etc.

Anything else you'd like to know?

If possible find the 3S-GTE from the ST-205 ( 3rd gen GT-Four)...for even more power! :D , but yeah keep in mind what GT-FOUR said make sure it isnt the ST trim, because the engine I believe is the "A" series engine and it would be more work converting a A series mounts to a "S" series engine mounts!

The "Ultimate" celica is a 7th gen celica not a 6th gen. The 7th gen engines are way different and it would require a lot of custom fabrication to make the 3sgte work. However, it has been done by a guy in Florida...

Yes the ST205 has more power, 255hp. It is a better engine but is also way more money. I have the ST205 turbo on my car actually...definitely awesome.

One thing to add is that you must buy a front clip, not just the engine. You need sensors, wiring, ecu, etc etc etc to make this work and you can only make sure you have everything if you get the clip.

And yes the ST uses the 7AFE engine, which is based on the "A" series block and will not work.

4th, 5th, and 6th gen celica GT-Four's have the 3SGTE. The ST205 3SGTE came stock in the 6th gen GT-Four overseas.
