Anyone REALLY know a cheap dent autobody shop? I'm sure you've all heard about the hail and/or experienced it. I was only on liability insurance so god, I have no idea what I'm going to do.. sighs.

Word in the industry suggest there's upwards of 100,000 cars needing the same thing. Try it yourself first maybe lol, if not, you'll be waiting a while!

Just curious why you did not put comprhensive on your car? I just wonder because it is fairly cheap, probably even more so if you put something like a $1000 deductible on it. I know on our policies it is maybe like 200-300 extra per year but seems worth it living in this city(hail, mini floods, break ins, vandalism etc..)

I agree. My comprehensive is 168. And thats on an 08 WRX with a 250 deductible.

does anyone know if i were to claim through insurance under comprehensive, as i do have up to 1000 coverage, would it affect my future premiums if i do file a claim for repairs? I am with meloche monnex if that helps. I dont have any windshield damage, but just lots of dents on my hood, and driver fender, all caused by the hail. thanks in advance

Visiting my out of province in-laws finally has paid off, missed the falling ice. Next time I am forced to eat a way overcooked roast I shall reflect on what could have happened. Noticed more than a few nice cars on my street were not so lucky, Audis and BMW cars seem to take a hit, the Corvette looked fine and all were parked outside from what the owners have told me. There is an older Toyota truck that now looks like the texture of a golfball.

I would get a pro to take care of the hail damage, if I were in this position a trip to Montana might be a quick and cheap repair. Worth searching this road of thought.

Put some comprehensive on your car and wait for the next hail storm = profit

When I first bought the car, I was pretty low on money. Attending school and everything, TD Meloche Monnex quoted me around 3600$ for 2 way. I pay around 1800 right now. Just didn't think thoroughly about nature. I figured, if I did crash my car, and it was my fault, I would deserve it. =/

Also, it would have been a write off.

Just went to them today, they said it's way too much. They would send me to an autobody.
Crowfoot Autobody quoted me 16K

I was parked at my highschool william aberhart for stampede. It's across from U of C and by the train station.

you're thinking of collision. Comprehensive is totally different and covers basically all non-moving perils iirc like hail, fire, floods, vandalism, etc and is MUCH MUCH cheaper than collision. Expensive lesson in insurance.
