Stuck closed, nope.
Stuck open you can overspeed the turbo and your engine will be intaking unfiltered air.

What do you mean by Stuck closed and stuck open?

Thanks,

Well when I'm shifting at high psi, the bov doesn't evacuate the air and the idle which was at about 1500 rpm is now at 750 rpm.

That is the worse of the two possible situations. I would replace that ASAP.

But can I still drive it around, because my mechanic is gone for a week, and we will change the timing chain in a week, so while the motor is out, it would be easier to work with the bov.

Keep the rpm's low and you should be fine.

By the way, if you are at all technically inclined you might as well just take it apart, wire-brush out the inside, lightly add some oil and you might fix your problem right there. Stuck BOV's are more common than people think - half the time some elbow grease and a hammer works worn/rusty BOV's free.

Are you not noticing any compressor surge/fluttering while driving?
