window washing fluid - yes its me <3

I havnt had my window washing fluid resovoir hooked up in awhile... today I hooked it up and no water will go through it... when I press the button i hear the pump going (I think thats the pump anyways) any suggestions on where i should start?

Check the lines arent blocked? Make sure the pump IS working, not something else.

Look and see where the fluid is dripping under your car, and start there.

The lines need to be purged. Fill the reservoir with gasoline and light it on fire. This should fix your problem, along with any other potential future problems.

save him from the embarassment/bitching moreso, really tho mikey, this isn't as much as a road hazard/diy clusterfk as the brake thing, so i have to ask first, why did you disconnect it in the first place, there must've been something wrong that oyu had to shut it off? second, think of how the system works then go from there for troubleshooting, third and easiest as someone said, is there leaking fluid and from where for a potentially quick diagnostic/fix

On the chevy lumina the washer fluid reservoir is directly on top of the battery. I removed it to get at the battery and havnt bothered putting it back on. There is a hose that connects from the pump and goes just above the firewall where the wipers are and then the wipers have hoses on them aswell, I unplugged the hose that went above the firewall and to see if I could see water pumping through it and there is none. The wires on the top of the pump seem to be connected properly. I am guessing its the pump... is there anything else to the pump besides the thing that connects to the reservoir?

Blow the line out back to the pump with compressed air. If you find it IS your pump failed, you can get a generic from canadian tire and wire it in about 5 minutes.

Get a new car.

lol man after all this money I put into this car it will last me for awhile now. I fixed the pump wasnt a big problem something with the wires.

everythiing else on it is running nice.

I'm pretty sure between the 10k/yr insurance and all the money you waste trying to make that car simply work you could hire yourself a personal cab for the year.

haha i hope youre right. My wife's dad has put 3, yes 3, trannys into his 93 grand caravan, and on the last one i was like dood get rid of this piece of shit. Suspension is toast, cvs are toast, it has 300,000k on it, rusty roof, and theres more. Hes like nope, i dont want another car, so he spends ANOTHER 2500$ on a tranny rebuild :facepalm:

once a car starts nickel and diming you, it wont usually stop. It means the car is reaching its expectancy of life and its time to pawn it off on somebody else.

I bought the car for like 700$ when it was suppost to be sold for 2200, it had 125k on in and was in perfect running condition I drove it hard for a year then it sat for a year. Needs some TLC but still only has 140k on it. If the tranny broke even once I wouldnt fix it.
