A shipment I placed from Japan has landed in Vancouver, and I'm in need of a customs broker to allow clearance so that they can be shipped to Calgary.

If anyone knows a Broker or can recommend someone, that would be great! Looking to do this today if possible

Jori doesn't handle personal shipments. I'm going to try a place they recommended though (H H Smith)

EDIT: Turns out H H Smith doesn't either, they told me to give Dilas a call.

I've used Bridgeview Customs before, they're out of Ont, but it's all electronic anyways. 1-800-350-0248

since this is my first time I have a couple quick questions.

So the parts have landed in Vancouver, they have been inspected, and are sitting in a warehouse somewhere. I talked to the girl at Pacific Overseas Forwarding Inc. and she sent me an invoice that covered the inspection, shipping to my door by truck, and all the documents.

Now, what exactly is the customs broker needed for? Aren't the parts cleared and technically in the country? :dunno:

they are in the country yes, but they are not cleared. they are cleared once Canada Customs has received all pertinent information from the broker, as well as any charges (duties, taxes, levy's, etc) are paid. Uncle Sam always wants his cut of everything!
