Hello Beyonders,

I am looking forward to get myself a luxury SUV very soon. I'll have to consider some factors (especially pricing) to see if I should get it brand new or one not too old with low kms. My current options are the BMW X5, Acura MDX, Audi Q7.
Q7 is for now the one I like the most (black TDI 3.6), when it come to looks.
Is it really the best option on this price range? Could I get some advice if there might be a really nice one I might not be considering?
I've also seen a Buick Enclave that is pretty good looking, but I do not know how good are the Buicks....never owned any of them or even know anyone who've had one.

Thanks a lot for the help!!!!

Get a mid 2000s ML500/55 AMG. You will not be disappointed.

X5/MDX/Q7

Q7 is the nicest one to look at (in and out) .. but the worst one to drive.

X5 is the best one to drive, but lots of problem.

MDX is the cheapest one to buy, but it is not that luxury brand.

Import an 07+ BMW X5. Can be had with low mileage for mid 30's. SUCH a deal for what it offers. No cluster change required, no duty, just 5% tax. Ridiculous.

I bought a 08 Escalade ESV back in 2008.

Beautiful vehicle! Not regretting it one bit!

The Buick's are nice too by the way!

Get it from the USA, far better value and a little vacation to boot. Buick makes a really quiet vehicle if it matters.

Exactly what I had in mind! That is the problem I'm having with the MDX....you don't feel like you have something special....there are lots in the city, Q7 are not that many, it's kind of a little more special.....when you said it's the worst to drive, can you please specify a little more? This might change my perspective so far. Thanks everyone for all the feedback.

I'll check out the AMG. Still willing to receive any advice :D

All luxury SUV's are problematic, from Cayannes, X5's, ML500/55/63's, Q7's, Escalades etc.

The "less" luxurious japanese models definitely have less problems, regardless of the feeling of luxury.

I highly suggest looking for a FX45, they are very sporty, well equipped and relatively reliable compared to the rest of the field.

I find ML55's are waste of money, get the cheaper ML500 or the more powerful ML63 if you can shell out the cash.

MDX's feel like honda pilots, damn near the same vehicle, and there's not much of a luxury feel to a transversed underpowered crossover. They are extremely well made cars though.

I'd have to disagree. I've done 80,000KM in 2 years on my 08 Escalade and havn't had ANY issues. One of the reasons why I swear by Caddy now. Love the warranty aswell. You don't pay for anything. Even let my brother take it out a few times, blew a bunch of speakers, dealership replaced it free since it's the "Cadillac Warranty".

Inspections, oil changes, all free under warranty!

There will always be exceptions to the rule. In general Cadillac has one of the lowest reliablity records, according to Consumer Reports.

^ There will always be exceptions. Land Rover has gotten the lowest reliability record according to J.D. Power and so far, my vehicle has been the most reliable lol

I personally like the Q7 the best out of your options but I'd say look into the Infiniti FX35 or FX50 as well. MDX would definitely be the most reliable but like others have said, Acura isn't exactly a luxury brand. Perhaps a Lexus RX350?

X5, the Q7 looks and handles like a big van.
