BMW officials have just officially announced that the BMW Concept Gran Coupe Concept will be produced as part of the 6-series line.

It will be the 6-series Gran Coupe sedan and will join the 6-series coupe and convertible. Will take on the Mercedes CLS and Porsche Panamera.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand the need for a four door large car with a trunk that isn't a sedan? Why not just get a wagon? I actually prefer the wagon shape for looks and it's waaaaay more versatile.

I'm with ExtraSlow - this is like answering a question that wasn't asked. All this'll do is take buyers away from the 5-Series.

Kinda, not really though. Panamera is more competing vs. the CLS vs something like the S-Class or a 7 Series or A8. Classified as a full size, but it's not quite as luxurious but more sportier than the actual full size cars.
