Ive been looking for a E46 M3 for a while and it seems all of them are US cars.
Has anyone else bought a US M3 that has already been imported. Anything to watch out for or need to know.

I have a E46 M3 convertible I'm letting go for cheap if you're interested. Need to move this fast before my new car shows up, completely out of garage space right now.

E46 M3s are getting cheaper and cheaper so quickly.

If it's what you're looking for, I'd take a serious look at rage2's m3, some serious money put into it and it's going for a sickening low price.

Things to look for... make sure all recalls are done, make sure SMG maintenance is up to date. Obviously check car history thoroughly.

Curious, did you end up ordering an SLS AMG or what?

Just went through it myself. PM me if you are looking at car as I've looked at almost every single one and took a thorough look at each one. I looked at 9 M3s. 7 of them were garbage. GET AN INSPECTION.

Anyway read this: http://m3.madrussian.net/faq.shtml

Stay away from 2001 models. Too many issues to worry about. Also wouldn't bother with anything FI. Also most people are asking too much for their cars.

For example, I'd probably give him asking price assuming he completes a BMW Inspection 2 (which is due right around 100,000 anyway). That covers your inspection plus get a bunch of basic items done including diff oil. That's assuming the car is in good shape.

That's another thing. Just about every M3 I looked at has had oil changes done as per service schedule.. that's roughly 20,000+kms between oil changes. Not nearly enough for the way the cars are driven.
