Looking at buying a new'ish truck and looking at the chevy 2500 series in particular, and see the 2500 and k2500 models.

What is the difference between the two.
Ive tried wiki'ing it, etc.. with no luck, im sure its an easy answer but i cant figure it out as of now.:banghead:

There isn't really. As far as I'm aware. the C/K designation was used to differentiate between old model (pre 99) and new model ( 2000+) trucks.

Feel free to correct me, but a Chevy 2500 is a Chevy 2500.

C = 2wd
K = 4wd

You won't find many C2500s around these parts anyway... I can't even remember the last time I saw a 3/4 ton that wasn't equipped with 4wd.

Almost all full-size pick up trucks sold in Canada are of the 4wd variety.

What im driving right now is a 2000, rwd 1500 chevy. (so they definitely exist haha).

I guess you have never been in Saskatchewan or Manitoba.

while not a 3/4 ton, my dodge is only 2wd. It is just a hauler for me, and never goes off road. better gas mileage .

lol...

I don't think I denied the existence of 2wd trucks... but certainly, you will not find many 2wd 3/4 ton or 1 ton trucks out there, especially late model builds.

Given our rugged wintery climate, truck buyers in the Canadian market opt for 4wd equipped trucks... which is what makes the 2wd versions so rare.

The majority of 2wd trucks on the market are 1/2 ton versions.
