Hi,brand new 2 alpine 12" type R 4 ohm subs 1000watt. brand new in boxes never installed. paid 380.00 each,must sell. 290 each obo :)

their not even in a sub box!! and i dunno, you can get them wayyy cheaper than 290, thats pretty steep dude

its basically the power rating...

type S runs at 200rms and im not sure about the peak, while type r's run at 300rms and 1000 peak

its basically what u want
u want more power go for the type rs
u want lots of power but not 2 mcuh, hit up the type s's!

hes right but its more complicated than that. the difference is the materials used for the voice coil and the cooling measures used, also the suspension is much stiffer with the type r's, all of these features combined is what makes the power rating higher. also the magnet is much larger on the type rs making the sub more efficient. also the surround (rubber piece around outside) is wider making the cone throw farther per note---moving more air---making more db's. Kind of the quick-and-dirty version but you get the idea. hope this has helped some.

its not only power rating but also use. type r's are more for spl with some sq but the type s are more with sq than anything.
