Hey everyone, thought I would post this for insight on mercedes in Calgary. Looking to purchase a new Mercedes E550 shortly. Any suggestions on the best way or place to purchase. Would love to save whatever money I can. Is the US even an option for a new model?

Any help is appreciated.

U.s isn't really an option.

Hyatt Mercedes is the better dealership.

what year are u looking for? cuz the new AMG is E63. if u buy it from the US u gotta change the cluster and DRL before u import it.

An E55 is probably the older W210 chassis. Check the spring perches on the front end, they have a nasty habit of rusting between the perch and the frame, causing them to detach from the vehicle. Definitely check out www.benzworld.org, there is some good info on there.

My mistake, I had a typo, I meant the E550. Thanks for the insight.

Anyone know if all Benz dealers will charge the same amount essentially or is there a particular one that may allow me to get a better deal on a 2010 or 2011? Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver?

2010 or 2011, although the car I am looking to buy isnt the AMG, but just the E550, made a typo on the original post. Have you done it before, what is the cost to change the cluster and DRL? I checked RIV, it seems can import but only up to 2010.

Had much better experience shopping at Lone Star than Hyatt.

Have friends who have had bad experiences at both dealerships. One of them phoned dealerships in Saskatchewan, with the Saskatoon dealer hanging up on him soon as he told them he was from Calgary, and the Regina dealer offering thousands off the price compared to Calgary. He paid ~$400 to have it delivered here, and was a very happy with the whole experience.

Only trick is that you have tell them you weren't happy with Calgary dealers, therefore you're looking elsewhere. Benz Canada doesn't like out of region sales, but soon as you tell them that, no problems.
