I was at the car wash when this pulled up. Owner was a nice guy and I talked to him for abit. He said he just had it imported from the states and just picked it up, as seen by the lack of license plate. Pictures aren't the best quality... iphone pics. His girlfriend gave me a wierd look when i was taking the picture

Not liking the rear end at all.

It's a little too much FnF for me.

I didn't think it looked too great from the pictures online, but I thought it looked pretty good in person. But either way, like it or not, it's a pretty rare car so I just snapped some quick shots and posted them. You can definitely tell from the first picture, that the shots were taken before the car wash

Don't like the 370's at all. Not biased. Same with G37's, not a fan.

Warranty doesn't apply for Nissan import, right?

I prefer standard Z over Nismo.

I actually thought the rims looked pretty nice in person. He told me the width of the rears, but I forget what they are, but they were really wide.

This car wash is the one off of Richmond road in the southwest (close to westhills)

Ironically enough i spotted the same car on Crowchild last night. Looks 100x better in person.

Negative...Nissan warranty comes across the border with the car and is honoured up here in Canada..:)

Come on you can do better than that. Don't set your dreams so low. Dream for a car that can actually do a few laps around a track without its brakes fading and oil at critical temperatures.

^ 370Z seems like a reasonable dream car.

I know a guy who's dream car is an Integra LS Vtec 2DR. He's been living the dream for 6 years now. His dream is rusty, and burns oil.

I suppose but it's more coincidence that I was reading a thread about the Nismo 370Z at NASIOC and there were links to all the problems the cars have at the track and saw this thread.

Are these problems that only the Nismo version has? Or does the normal 370Z have the same problem? Ironic, because the Nismo is supposed to be the more performance orientated version...

It's probably related to all versions if C&D magazine is correct in concluding that there isn't sufficient cooling;

You basically need to make brake modifications to safely track the car.

Although it's not as rare, the 40th anniversary is my favorite version of the 370, red interior :bigpimp:

Nismo 370 handles like no other. pure madness how fast they change direction.

I love the rims they use; very aggressive styling that suits it perfectly

For example an EVO MR around race city in full auto (the fastest way) You wont get more than 3-4 laps before the transmission overheats and sends the car into limp mode untill it cools back down. Im sure the brakes would fade too if the transmission was cooled properly.

I was lapping in an EVO 9 a few weeks back, cooked the brakes in about 5 laps.

Factory cars with factory brakes are not meant for the track, with very few exceptions.

I could get more than 5 laps from my SRT4 brakes but yes stock pads on most cars will eventually overheat. The fact still remains that the 370's brakes failed way earlier, and way more disastrously, than other OEM-equipped cars, and it's a repeatable and testable phnomenon. Come on man it's a Nismo and the brakes don't even work as good on a track as garden variety cars.

To be honest I dont know what the issue with the 370 is, I didnt bother to do my research, it does sound kinda lame for a "sports" car... Lots of "sports" cars are to comprimised for the street these days IMO

How fast do the 370 brakes fade? nm reading link...

From the articles that I read on the 370Z in the June issue of C&D, the problem was with the brake pad that came stock on the car, in combination with lack of air directed through the wheel well. It had nothing to do with the actual rotor or caliper hardware. Just change the brake pads to something like a Hawk HP+ and add in brake ducts and you'll be set for the track. Pretty easy fix IMO.
